Publisher's summary

It's totally normal to fall in love with an audiobook narrator's voice, right?

Right.

Just ask Vera, who listens to "her" guy whenever and wherever she can: while driving, working, parenting, cooking, cleaning, showering...you name it.

But now, she's bringing him into the bedroom. And her husband is less than pleased.

These Walls Can Talk is a raucous and heartfelt love letter to romance audiobooks: the authors who write them, the narrators and engineers who record them, and the passionate fans who devour them.

Enjoyed

Erin is a favorite narrator..so loved this new project. Bonus to also include more of my favorite narrators. It was a cute little escape and loved the fun they all had while reading the story. A behind the scenes..look..

Loved it! Delightful and fun!

I absolutely loved listening to These Walls Can Talk, an Audio Play, by Erin Mallon. It is a quick listen with a powerful punch. A story about an everyday couple, two authors and narrators and a quirky technician. I just loved Vera. I resonated with her so much. As readers and listeners, we got lost in stories so I totally got where she was coming from. Because who does not love Joe Arden’s voice, right? And when Cameron finally sits down and talks to her, my heart. I cried and laughed. It was perfect. Then you have Georgia, Niffer (I loved that), Neal and Atticus. Such an amazing group of characters. I highly recommend listening to this one.

Loved it! Happy listening!

It’s a little gem that I highly recommend

I was there when the author first produced her play as a live Zoom meeting on Facebook, and it was good, but obviously technically limited. This time, it’s perfect!

Most of the original cast is back. They’re all talented narrators who genuinely love the genre, like their characters. Between the enthusiastic listener, the awarded narrator, and the dedicated engineer, you get a whole panel of the genre’s fanatics. On the opposite side, you have the ‘serious’ writer who doesn’t understand his wife’s passion for romance audiobooks, the newbie narrator who’s quite critical of the genre, and the romance writer who doesn’t believe in love. What an interesting bunch of characters! And what better way to explore the genre and the industry.

This audioplay is quite short–maybe even too short. It’s smart, hilarious, perfectly narrated and at times quite true and insightful, even emotional.

Some interesting bonuses are included: bloopers from the recording sessions, and the whole first chapter of the author’s first novel, releasing next month.

It’s a little gem that I highly recommend. Put your earphones on and enjoy!

So much fun!

What a fun, tongue-in-cheek play about romance novels and the narrators we all love. It was a playful and entertaining listen that had me laughing from start to finish, relating to the listener that lovers her narrators, and wishing for a true glimpse into the recording studio.

THE BEST!!!

I love Erin as a narrator and love her even more as a writer. This audioplay was hilarious, I was laughing so hard!! Erin connected romance listeners, narrators, authors and engineers so accurately!

My absolute favorites were Vera and Atticus!! Vera, a romance audiobook listener, who loves listening to one male narrator in particular, played by Andi Arndt. Her character was so RELATABLE! LOVED Joe as Atticus, THE NARWAHL, the best male romance narrator with the most terrible female voice! OMG! Joe's intentional terrible female voice was hilarious!!!

No words are enough to describe how fantastic it was! A MUST LISTEN!!! Looking forward to Erin's next release, Flirtasaurus.

Fantastic parody!!!

Did you ever wonder what it's like in the narrator box? Erin Mallon has crafted an amazing audio play to give us a comedic look at larger than life characters that are involved in the making of an audiobook. Inside jokes, big egos, funny outtakes and quirky characters all flawlessly flow together in Mallon's mind coming out and giving us hysterical laughter. I think a romance listener will not only relate to this gem, but find themselves in a better mood after listening. It's that good! With a stellar ensemble cast, each character is perfectly suited to the narrator. And the bloopers were just icing on the cake. Every time Andi Arndt laughed, I cracked up too! This is a short listen that when you need that pick me up, is the one you should grab.
