Review by Climate.Careers

As the Founder of Climate.Careers, I feel that this book is an absolutely critical read for anyone who's seeking a high-level understanding of the extreme severity of the climate crisis, and a holistic overview of what we should be doing to address climate change and reverse global warming.

I very much appreciate the variety of perspectives shared. It's important that readers understand that climate change is not just one thing, that it isn't just about carbon dioxide or methane, but in fact a whole host of other issues relating to economic systems, capitalism, social justice, and political will.

For any of you out there reading this: If you are interested in finding opportunities to align your careers with solving the climate crisis, I highly recommend checking out www.climate.careers. We're here to help!

Lacking in science, preaches to the choir.

The book contains a lot of emotional language, and is superficial when it comes to actual climate science. The IPCC is only mentioned 4 or 5 times, and it doesn't go into much detail.

However it does give you an insight into the self-oppressed mindset that Extinction Rebellion activists wish to embrace. The attempt appears intended to grow their base of supporters through intersectionality. Expect to read about oppression by 'the 1%', capitalism, sexism, etc.

It is worth mentioning that it gives you an understanding of how their protest tactics work, why they intend to get arrested, and how they attempt to respond positively when people are affected by their disruption tactics. It also touches a little bit on how they gained earned media through their boat and protesting at Greenpeace HQ.

Overall, it's good if you want an insight into the movement, but it's best to remain objective as you listen. To the choir this book is intended for, I'm sure they'd give it 5 stars.
