Publisher's summary

Glenn Hawley is care-worn and just plain wore out. He gave up a law enforcement career to save his family, only to find himself on the wrong side of progress and teetering on bankruptcy. He needs a reason to get up in the morning...a reason to fight.

The old saw - be careful what you wish for - comes home to roost when the fight lands on his doorstep in a hail of bullets. Unable to escape his past mistakes, and with the consequences of bad luck and poor choices closing in from every side, everything Glenn Hawley cares about is in jeopardy.

It's going to take more than a village to help the ex-sheriff save his ranch, his way of life and the family he is willing to risk everything for. As for his own redemption, sometimes it only takes one person to make all the difference.

In the shadow of Wyoming's sweeping national grasslands, when history and the present collide, it will take more than a united front to protect an uncertain future where the stakes are high and courage is all a man has left.

Thunder Basin explores one man's search for redemption and second chances. It is a character study in a contemporary western mystery-suspense setting, and includes a dollop of MF romance, high action, and humor.

What Else Could Go Wrong??

You ever feel like whatever could go wrong, does go wrong? That is this story in a nutshell. Glenn Hawley is forced to give up his position as a police officer once his brother becomes ill and can no longer take care of the family farm. Turns out the farm is mortgaged illegally and this is not found out until his sweetie, Ava, is reading into some of his documents. Ava is pretty much the only positive thing going in Glenn's life but accused her of betrayal, which drives a wedge between them, until she proves to him that it is not what he thinks. I love her go get'em attitude and willing to help out. This was a great western romance, my first in fact, and I was not disappointed

Some types of broken, aren't permanent....

I really enjoyed Glenn and Ava's story.... Glenn is a former Sheriff, who after a career altering case, divorce and a bad case of PTSD, returns home to help his injured older brother Arlo, run the family farm.... Things go from bad to worse when the brothers have to sign a loan contract with the bank to help with Arlos healthcare and the farm.
After dropping Arlo off to his ex wife and daughter to take to their sister's place, Glenn decides to take a weekend for himself and goes to stay at a motel on the way back to the farm... where he meets the gorgeous Ava... they hit it off straight away and after a fun filled day and an even more fun filled night together, they go their separate ways...
But their paths cross again after an incident of the farm... Glenn's insecurities kick in and he falsely accuses Ava of lying to him but thankfully Ava isn't deterred and with a little help from the local sheriff, gets Glenn to listen to her and help put things right...
This story has so much, deception, murder, love and loss that you'll be left eager to see what the next chapter will bring.... oh, and don't get me started on Glenn's ex, sure she had her reasons to be bitter towards Glenn, but that doesn't alter the fact, she's a real piece of work!
