The cool thing about getting the times tables down is that is has a compounding effect that reaches out to all of the segments of math that little listeners will be sure to encounter on their scholarly journeys. A proper grasp and memorization of the times tables, in my opinion, is a MASSIVE part of being able to hold you own in any kind of mathematical arena that will serve basically anyone in any walk of life that they choose.
