About this listen

From New York Times best-selling author James Rollins comes a stirring story of a soldier and his military war dog who are drawn into a dark mystery tracing back to World War II and a lost treasure tied to the bones of the dead.

Off the blustery streets in the medieval heart of Budapest, Captain Tucker Wayne and his war dog, Kane, rescue a mysterious woman fleeing three armed men. The secret she holds will unlock a terrible treasure, one steeped in blood and treachery, tied to a crime going back to the fall of Nazi Germany and a heritage of suffering and pain that reaches out from the past to wreak havoc today. In a final showdown in the depths of a lost cemetery, truths will be unearthed, treasures will be exposed, and the fate of all will rest upon the shoulders of one man and a dog whose courage is beyond measure.

Included within this thrilling story is a sneak peek at the opening chapters of Bloodline, in which the further exploits of Tucker and Kane will be revealed.

Meet new series heroes, Tucker Wayne and Kane

What made the experience of listening to Tracker the most enjoyable?

The perspective of Kane, the dog, gave an interesting change up in the story telling.

What other book might you compare Tracker to and why?

This dovetails in with James Rollins' SIGMA series and follows a similar style.

Have you listened to any of Christian Baskous’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Not that I can recall.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There was a definite sense of suspense during the final confrontation.

Any additional comments?

A good start to a promising new series.

Shorter than expected.

Excellent story by my favorite author. Just didnt realize how short it would be. still it's a great way to learn about the characters.

Thoroughly loved the stories!

I thoroughly enjoyed the short stories format and the building of character relationships was intriguing.

Good short story

I enjoyed the introduction of these new characters to the sigma 6 group. My only complaint is the price. Since it was so short I don't think $10 or a credit should be charged. It should be the $2.99. My only complaint

Bait and switch

The run time on this “book” is given as 3 hours. However, only one hour of it is the short story I bought. The rest of the two hours is a lengthy sample pitching the first book of a series with the short story’s characters. So I paid to have the chance to be marketed to! Show the honest length of the story. Then you can tout the two hour “bonus” as additional.

Mostly A "Trailer" Park - Save Your Money

While I was expecting this book to be a short story, the first one was the only one to fit that bill. The remainder was a collection of clips from three books I have already read. If you are new to the Tucker Wayne character and have not read any of the books, then this is a great introduction to the series.

Rip-off

Paid $10.58 for a 1 hour 16 min. story with 2 excerpts which were effectively ads for other books. Like the characters, but hate getting taken advantage of.

First time author

I think this might have been my first time with this author. I'm not actually sure- I might need to check. What I do know is that I broke my very important rule of not jumping into a series in the middle of said series. Audible had a huge sale a while ago and had many, many short stories and novellas on sale for like $1.00 each. Before I knew it, I had about 30 books (well, more like novellas and short stories) in my cart. And....unfortunately, I realized that a couple of the stories were novellas inside of an existing series. This was one of those.

I will be honest and say that even though this story was part of an existing series, that I was able to fall in and follow along with the story. I do have a soft spot for dog stories, so that's probably why it ended up in my cart - but the story itself made me curious to discover a little bit more information about the main characters in this story. Tucker and Kane are awesome and I would love to find out more about them.

I guess in the scheme of things....sales really do work.....

Good but not what was expected

Ioved the Tracker. Novel however the next two chapters was not the tracker novel but a prelude to other James Rollins books.
