He’s growing on me…
I’d sworn off this author long ago because I’d read one book, and saw two of his movies and all three had sad endings. After The Notebook I’ve slowly ventured into reading his work again. Since he’s thrown me a few happy endings, I can deal with a sad one here and there now (LOL). He writes a great story. NS is definitely a gifted man. This is a good read just like his others, happy and sad endings, they’re all great work. This one doesn’t disappoint.

amazing
i loved this book. i listened to it while i was cleaning my room, and i completely forgot what i was doing, and just listened. it was amazing, because usually it takes me forever to clean my room. this book was so good. the character development was very, very good. i would, and have, recommend this book to people.

Interesting, but......
Ever see the movie "Doc Hollywood" with Michael J Fox? Well, True Believer is a play on that movie. The "city" guy comes to the "country" town... falls in love with the "country" girl and they try to figure out who moves so they can both be together. I felt like I was listening to the movie script. I was a bit disappointed. Sparks is generally a writer who I enjoy and keeps my interest. I DID enjoy the book.... but again, I felt like the storyline was similar and very predictable. It was an easy listen..... and it occupied me on the drive to/from work.

A book to read again
Not only was this a wonderfully unforgettable story but the narration was shockingly brilliant. I say shockingly due to rarely finding a narrator that can do a book justice. I will certainly be looking for more works by not only the author but the narrator as well.

unexpectedly funny :-)
This was an amazing story. I loved it. There were a lot of witty, funny remarks that made me laugh out loud. The narrator did a good job, but a man doing a female southern voice was slightly comical. I only gave it 3 stars on the performance because their were musical interludes that ran over the narration and it was distracting.
