Resumen del Editor

The thrilling apocalyptic horror series in one complete box set!

From bestselling author of Dead Meat, a terrifying, epic and action-packed story about the carnage unleashed when a strange object in the sky turns people into blind, raging monsters.

It’s an ordinary Monday.

Until everything changes forever.

At 2:44 PM, a mysterious crack appears in the sky.

Anyone unfortunate enough to look up is immediately struck blind. What’s worse, their mind is wiped clean, replaced with a vicious urge to kill anyone within reach.

Mark is at work when it happens. Fighting not to fall asleep, the boring department meeting suddenly turns into a bloodbath when people are drawn to the windows to look up at the sky.

Down at the street, Gina just finished shopping and now finds herself thrown into a scene from a horror movie, as everyone around her begins beating each other to death.

Stopping at a red light, Tommy's stepdad leans forward to gaze upwards. Without warning, Tommy is trapped inside the car with a mindless monster intent on killing him.

Now, these ordinary people must stand together in the fight for mankind, or die along with it. As the crack grows bigger, more and more people succumb to the rage. Societies collapse and the world is plunged into mayhem.

And there seems to be no cure. No safe haven. Not even an explanation.

Only blind rage.

Filled with action and suspense from the start, this dark, gripping tale of the apocalypse is driven by compelling characters placed in impossible situations.

A supernatural survival thriller perfect for fans of Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Jeremy Bates, Iain Rob Wright and Jeremy Robinson. If you enjoyed The Stand, Cell, Bird Box and The Dark, then Under the Breaking Sky is a great match for you.

Unforgettable

10s across the board. But the most notable feature in this series is the outstanding character development. It was such an awesome adventure following this group through the apocalypse. Definitely recommend for horror fans with a heart!

The Stand meets The Thing!

I am glad I found this series! The author put a twist on aliens taking over the world. The characters were great and you really could become invested in them. I recommend reading, or listening to these books!

ehhhh

this series overall was alright. the unique genre blending was a nice rethink of some over used tropes.

I will say there are a couple edits that got overlooked or was a mis speak from the narrator, the one that for some reason sticks with me is, Rex's hackles raised. as the dog was NOT in handcuffs so it WASN'T in shackles... minor I know, but hey, it shouldn't have made it into the novel.

some characters were interesting, some weren't. all and all if you can get this series for a single credit, go for it. definitely worth it time-wise, but I will say I'm glad to be finished with it.

The Thorn character ruined it for me.

The story is ok. A mash up of several other successful stories. A crack in the sky instead of cell phones. It was the Thorn character that ruined it for me. One of those generic villains that everything just works out for. Need to kill a federal agent in a building full of them? Not a problem. No leads on what to do next? No worries, the aunt of the person you are looking for will randomly walk by. Stuck behind a fridge with a dart gun while a trained agent with a real firearm has you covered? Just run in fast and low, that will trick them every time.

A skip in my opinion, dude is the master of 4 hour audiobooks so this is arguably worth it only as one giant bundle.

The narratory122d becomes increasingly irritating

The New
Poo is really only just '5fine', I guess. Unfortunately, it wasn't exciting or thrilling as hoped/expected. although Nick (or a better idea of) probably could have edited out half of the series with some of its meaningless, inane chatter and descriptions of....literally anything: the internal thoughts of characters, scenes, dialogue etc etc,.

I've AA@actually fast forwarded MANY times and I've NEVER lost any important details...that should tell you something.

It's especially true when it comes to Gina speaking to her boys....I've literally forwarded some of those 'conversations', 6 minutes at a time (no lie!), and lost NOTHING of import. It's actually super cringe, and I often need to push past those moments or I just wouldn't be able to finish this series.

The other MAJOR cringe factor is the narrator. He seems to think he's acting in a Shakespearean play, with his overly 'affected' tone, and the way he annunciates e.v.e.r.y. s.i.n.g.l.e. l.e.t.t.e.r. i.n. e.v.e.r.y. s.i.n.g.l.e. w.o.r.d. (if reading that annoyed you, try listening to it...ugh).

There are times I can ignore it, and other times (like now), that I can't, and so I felt the need to pause, just to write this review.

I'll be going back to the series to finish it, but it will be at 1.2x, at least, from here on out. I can only recommend this series if there are serious edits done, and a whole new narrator.

Wish me luck finishing it 😒.

Also... I've read WAY too many reviews of people without a basic education in writing English: the phrase is 'all IN all' (not 'all and all'). Also, dear lord people,....it's 'could HAVE', 'would HAVE', 'should HAVE' etc (NOT 'could of', 'would of', etc 🤦🏻‍♀️). The dictionary is free online. Use it.

28 days later but different

I couldn't help but feel like the blind were like the Zombies from 28 days later, except of course they were changed by something within and they couldn't spread the rage like they could with zombies. that's not a bad thing at all. this is the second series of Nick Clausen that I've had the pleasure of listening to. I'd love to buy the books but unfortunately I don't have the time to read them. the gentleman who read it and voice acted (I apologize I forget his name) did an amazing job as well too.

Good, But…

Overall, it was a pretty good series. The first couple books were great and the last couple books were great, but it kind of drags in the middle. And in my opinion, there’s way too many characters. The author did a great job of tying everyone together, but more than once a chapter would start with a character and I had to take a few minutes to actually remember who this character was just cause there’s so many.

Don't look up

Fairly interesting, but went on a little too long for me. There are some likable characters, but no one is truly outstanding. I really did not understand the cause of the breaking sky, but it may be just my limited interest which prevented me from understanding.

Finished extremely well

Wow! I used audible for everything after the first book, mainly because I'm a slow reader. I set the speed on x1.4 and sat for an hour a day or sometimes did things outside.
This was the third series of Nick's that I had read. The others are Cadaver and Dead Meat, with Cadaver being my favorite. I purchased all the books, having only Monsters at Midnight left to read.
Also, I highly recommend joining Nick's newsletter in order to read the 3 FREE books, which are the "0" or prequel to the 3 series.
Thanks again Nick for feeling my "Dead" space in time with these great stories. I can't wait to dive into the next series you are currently working on.
