Publisher's summary

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Dale Barbara, Iraq vet and now a short-order cook, finds himself teamed with a few intrepid citizens - town newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician's assistant at the hospital, a select-woman, and three brave kids. Against them stands Big Jim Rennie, a politician who will stop at nothing - even murder - to hold the reins of power, and his son, who is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry. But their main adversary is the Dome itself. Because time isn't just short. It's running out.

Fantastic!

First off, this book is amazing! So many characters and its so interesting. what a concept! I have listen to thos book lots of time and talk about it a lot. Its by far my favorite. Great story telling. There are happy parts, sad parts, funny parts, cringy parts and so much more! So many characters to love and plenty to not love.... The narrator is phononimal! How this guy has a different voice for each character and added in accents too?! My hats off to you sir. Definitely worth listening! I give it 💯%

Great book

It was a great book, I was not expecting it to be so good. I had this book in my library for years and just never thought to listen to it till now and I was blown away. The narrator was great also, he was able to bring all the characters to life and made the book that much more enjoyable. If you're on the edge don't be, this was a great book.

first time I've read any of his work, I'm thirsty for more. I just wish I had listened to one of his books sooner

Don’t listen to the negative reviews.

This book grabbed my mind and emotions throughout the story. The characters were so real, especially the most evil villain I’ve ever encountered in a book, disguised as a devout man of God. As far as the ending goes, I thought it was absolutely perfect. I can think of so much more to say about the ending, but I’d classify all my thoughts as spoilers, so I won’t.

Absolutely worth a credit, and the 5 stars I gave it.

don't get me wrong I love Steven King but.....

through out the book SA is constant. I'm good without it or very little I get it's part of the story but it's disgusting.

Not my favorite

Not my favorite King. It was good but don’t compare it to the Stand. It was very …. Depressing almost? I felt like the good guys never caught a break.

Pretty sketchy narration. Decent story.

It was fine. Entertained for a few days. Good value considering length. I prefer unabridged books such as this. Narration accents were all over the board. King will be King though. He always imparts some thought provoking material.
