He was her bitterest enemy….

Ash Turner has waited a lifetime to seek revenge on the man who ruined his family—and now the time for justice has arrived. But instead he finds himself drawn to a tempting beauty who has the power to undo all his dreams of vengeance….

And her dearest love

Lady Margaret knows she should despise the man who’s stolen her fortune and her father’s legacy—the man she’s been ordered to spy on in the guise of a nurse. Yet the more she learns about the new duke, the less she can resist his smoldering appeal. Soon Margaret and Ash find themselves torn between old loyalties—and the tantalizing promise of passion.

Wordy

Would you try another book from Courtney Milan and/or Rebecca De Leeuw?

No.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It was OK, predictable.

What three words best describe Rebecca De Leeuw’s voice?

Affected. Her voice was grating at times, trying too hard to portray a snobbish affectation. Voices of different characters sounded the same. She does have a clear, easy to understand narration.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No.

Any additional comments?

I was disappointed in this book, given the positive reviews. I liked it enough to finish it, and enjoyed parts of it. There were excruciatingly long passages of characters' thoughts, many times repeating the same thoughts/worries throughout the book. Ash was likeable, but way too good to be believable. Margaret had no backbone; the scenes with her father made me wonder why she bothered. The premise was a good one, plot was interesting, but characterizations, repetitions, and sleep-inducing internal monologues made this a 3 star read at best.

Lovely romance....in a riveting story

This book is great....it's not perfect....but I love Ash and Margret's relationship and the path it takes.

The narrator was very good I liked her female voices and her male voices.

I did get a little bit tired of the constant father / daughter relationship in the beginning I mean it seemed like there was a lot of repeating. It was the same conversation every time they had one and once I knew they had the relationship they had I didn't need it to be beat into my head anymore.

I also felt like Ash's relationship with Mark was a little annoying the beginning it was kind of the same thing it was just a constant beating and are headed that Ash was doing everything for his brother and his brother was being a jerk about it.

I loved near the end when Margaret told her father what "how it was going to be" it was great!

All this being said, I loved this book! In the beginning I was annoyed with some things....but once I got over those things....I couldn't put it down! There were some really great aspects of this book that made the story really deep and interesting.

I got this book on a special sale...but I think it is for sure credit worthy!

Narrator not a good match

What did you like best about Unveiled? What did you like least?

Like the story. The narrator sounds old for this story. Makes it difficult to relate to the heroine since she is a young woman.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Rebecca De Leeuw?

Rosalyn Landor, Carolyn Morris or Susan Durendan

Was Unveiled worth the listening time?

The story got me to finish the book but only because I want to know what happen.

Any additional comments?

I love this series but I didn't get the other two audiobooks. I would rather read it myself.

somewhat entertaining, but not great

Is there anything you would change about this book?

add substance to the story line

Did Rebecca De Leeuw do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

so-so

Do you think Unveiled needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

no, it would just be "more of the same"

Any additional comments?

need to add more substance to the characters

eh

I didn't feel much of a connection to the main characters. The story was okay.

Really enjoyed!

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the narration was great. Female and male voices were clear. I absolutely loved Ash! Oh the words that come out of his mouth! He’s so perfect!!! There was minimal angst with her, most females make me want to slap them. I’ll look for more books by this author to try it out. Not too steamy but there were a couple sex scenes. Could’ve been hotter.

Romance with strength and depth

I am rereading and listening to this series. Not in order. I thought #3 was the best, now I’m not so sure, these characters are so strong, even in their weakness. Margaret leaves me speechless. Courtney Milan leaves me speechless!

Overall a 4, great narrator

First the narration was really good, wish this narrator had more books recorded. Enjoyed the story but got frustrated with Margaret, and what she tolerated from her family. I suppose for that time period it would have been difficult to do anything else. Still it was harder for me to like her than Ash. I did get tired of hearing 'Ash, Ash, Ash' over and over again either in her thoughts or in dialog! There were some interesting twists in this. Not a 'deep' book by any means. But that is not what I wanted. I've only listened to one other book by this author, enjoyed that one more. I will look for others by her. This was worth a credit.

Reviews are right

I did so love this story and Ash's commitment and loyalty to Margarent Ann. Absolutely perfectly done away from the Norm, I would like to here a second book about the other too handsome brothers Mark and the other one who name fails me with his extremely cool self. I loved the ending and must admit I was in favor of Ash just giving up on Margarent.
Write another soon.

Interesting

I love Courtney Milan but this wasn't my favorite. It felt stiff in the way old romance novels do. Even though it was written in 2011 it felt like it was from the 90s. There was no wit in the dialog and the passion was minimal. I liked the spin on it with him being unable to read and being the cause of her family's downfall. The premise was interesting, but it was missing this author's characteristic zing.
