Publisher's summary

On one of the city's hottest nights, New York Police Lieutenant Eve Dallas is sent to Central Park - and into a hellish new investigation. The victim is found on the rocks, just above the still, dark water of The Lake in the park. Around her neck is a single red ribbon. Her hands are posed, as if in prayer. But it is the eyes - removed with such precision, as if done by the careful hand of a surgeon - that have Dallas most alarmed.

As more bodies turn up, each with the same defining scars, Eve is frantic for answers. Against her instincts, she accepts help from a psychic who offers one vision after another - each with shockingly accurate details of the murders. And when partner and friend Peabody is badly injured after escaping an attack, the stakes are raised. Are the eyes a symbol? A twisted religious ritual? A souvenir?

With help from her husband, Roarke, Dallas must uncover the killer's motivation before another vision becomes another nightmare.

Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

Great Series

I absolutely love all the JD Robb In Death audiobooks. I can't even imagine reading these books now as I know the voices of my characters. Start at book 1 and listen to them all you will not be disappointed. It is great to hear how each of the characters grow.

Take this book out of Erotica Genre!

This book should not be in Erotica Genre. It is a Mystery or detective book!

Great fast moving story!

As the story begins, Eve and Roarke are at a dressy social function when she’s notified of a death in Central Park. Dressed in glamorous clothing, Lt Eve Dallas is always a cop first and they go to investigate the scene. There’s a serial killer in NYC killing women with long light brown hair and he takes the victims’ eyes with him. Enter a psychic, which Eve doesn’t trust and the case becomes even more complicated. As the team attempts to track down the killer, the insane man is triggered when he hears a news conference which has Eve and Peabody both making a statement to Nadine First. As he decides to ‘make them pay’, McNabb and Peabody are about ready to move in together when Peabody is brutally attacked outside her apartment building and severely injured. Thanks to some bystanders and McNabb, the killer is scared away before he can finish the job. Eve is devastated her partner was harmed and blames herself, but is now even more determined to catch the killer. Narration was great!
