Editorial reviews

Jim Roberts brings a deadpan intensity and slight New York accent to his performance of Voodoo Planet, a pulp classic by Andrew North (the pen name for prolific science-fiction writer Andre Norton).

Voodoo Planet stars Dane Thorsen, a crew member of a space ship called the Solar Queen. When the Solar Queen arrives in the planet Khatka, Dane must save himself from the dark magic of the wizard Lumbrilo.

Full of imaginative descriptions of aliens and hair-raising adventure, Voodoo Planet is a must-listen for all fans of vintage science fiction.

Good escapist story

Very nice sci-fi story. Narration is quite good and that certianly helped me to enjoy it.

Good book...and reading

When I was thinking about getting this book there was only one review and it gave some good advice - Listen to the sample. I did that but came to a very different conclusion. I thought the reading was fine. Got the book and, after hearing the first few chapters I am very happy with both book and reader.
So...follow the "Listen to the sample" advice but decide for yourself. Opinions about narrators I've noticed yet again, can be widely divergent.

Book 5 Star - Reader 1 Stars

Just listen to sample before you buy is really all I suggest.

I love these books and I listened to the entire book. I wish I had not pushed to the end. He reads as if he had just picked up the book cold. Micro hesitations after each word grate after a while as does the lack of appropriate emotion.

Note the the production house is "Jimcin' and the reader is Jim Roberts ? I suspect all these reads are from out of copyright stuff done by same guy. There is nothing wrong with that - he just needs a better reader. Hate to give bad reveiws but just finished it and still feeling the steam of disappointment.
