Publisher's summary

"No One Is Coming to Help. Now What?" In this era of increasingly complex problems and shrinking resources, can we find meaningful and enduring solutions to the challenges we face today as individuals, communities, and nations? Walk Out Walk On, we invite you on a learning journey to seven communities around the world to meet people who have walked out of limiting beliefs and assumptions and walked on to create healthy and resilient communities. These Walk Outs who Walk On use their ingenuity and caring to figure out how to work with what they have to create what they need. From Mexico to India, from Columbus, Ohio to Johannesburg, South Africa, we discover that all communities have the intelligence and inventiveness to solve their seemingly insolvable problems. "We discovered a gift inside ourselves," one Brazilian said, "something that was already there."

Inspiración en estado puro

Lo acabo de terminar y creo que lo voy a volver a empezar pronto, en las voces de las autoras es inspiración en estado puro.

Get the book

This is really great stuff for people to learn about. That said I think you miss too much with the audiobook that you'd get from the physical copy. It made it difficult to connect and less engaging.

Celebrating Community Power

A thought-provoking and uplifting book that celebrates the power of community and grassroots innovation. It invites readers to rethink their assumptions and explore new possibilities for creating a more just and sustainable world. Personally it’s my go-to source of motivation when I need a reminder of the incredible impact of collective action and innovative thinking!

Don't waste your time or money

I was really excited to listen to this book, the premise is still very interesting and I wanted the book to be good. I was sorely disappointed.

The authors no doubt had life changing experiences through their world travel. Their experiences should speak for themselves but instead the authors spend the majority of the book simply lecturing why they think western value and cultures are inadequate. Their arguments lack depth and logic. Their evidence is purely anecdotal.

The reading was equally unimpressive. Eventually I had to listen to it at 2x and even 3x speed because the pace of the reading and of the book dragged so much.

It's an interesting topic that I will do more research on but this particular book isn't worth the time and money.

Couldn't tell if it was read by the author or a robot

The heading says it all. The performance was lackluster and inconsistent. Performer seemed monotone and disinterested. Not a great book anyway I look at it. Three were many very valid points and beautiful allegories but I can't get past how bad the reading was
