Story
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Story
This landmark book is for those of us who prefer words to equations; this is the story of the ultimate quest for knowledge, the ongoing search for the secrets at the heart of time and space. Its author, Stephen W. Hawking, is arguably the greatest mind since Einstein. From the vantage point of the wheelchair, where he has spent the last 20 years trapped by Lou Gehrig's disease, Professor Hawking has transformed our view of the universe. A Brief History of Time is Hawking's classic introduction to today's most important scientific ideas.

Historical Fiction
This book includes much true history of WWII including real characters as well as fictional characters. It is hard many times to realize that this is fiction because of the facts, dates and real events that actually took place that are incorporated into this story. Well worth the time.

Don't Miss Out
Would you listen to War and Remembrance again? Why?
Probably not because I had read the book many years ago, but that doesn't mean that I don't think it was a top notch listen.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Victor Henry, he is not a perfect man, he has faults like all normal people, but he strives to do his best and be an honorable man.
Have you listened to any of Kevin Pariseau’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not, but I will look for them. He is an amazing performer, perhaps the best I have heard as a long time subscriber to Audible.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I will admit that I hated to turn it off and many times listened to it at night when I couldn't sleep.
Any additional comments?
Be sure to listen to Winds of War first. Even if you read these books they are worth a listen.

Just as good as book one
This book picks up right from where book one leaves off. if you read book one and enjoyed it then this book is a must. More adventures during the mid to final years of WW2 with the characters you've grown to love and hate from Book One. The Henry's, Jastro's and the rest of the players continue to be pivotal players as the Second World War heats up and winds down.
Don't miss out on the second half of this riveting story.

Understanding the overwhelming experience of WWII
Written as the adventure story of a US Navy officer and his family and friends, this novel explains the global horror and glory of the Second World War in a comprehensible way that non-fiction cannot. It is an anti-war romance novel that is a must read classic.

An Epic Story about the Best Generation
If you could sum up War and Remembrance in three words, what would they be?
Intriguing, Spellbinding, Heartbreaking
What other book might you compare War and Remembrance to and why?
It's hard for me to even think of a book that compares to the depth of characters and attention to detail in War and Remembrance.
Which character – as performed by Kevin Pariseau – was your favorite?
Kevin Pariseau did an amazing job with all the characters but my favorite performance was that of Pamela. She came off as dramatic and snooty, just like any well bred English girl should.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
All the moments that Aaron Jastro realizes how his actions of not leaving affected the lives of so many others. It was so sad to think of how this must have affected him.
Any additional comments?
I really like this book, but all the women come off as flaky and of questionable morals. Definitely a book more geared towards men, but still an excellent listen.

enormous important readable opus
What did you love best about War and Remembrance?
the dilution of the facts and factual details with the henrys and their acquaintances
What did you like best about this story?
not maudlin but sensitive treatment of the sufferings, the cost, of the war years
What about Kevin Pariseau’s performance did you like?
reads at perfect speed, stresses and intonations good, with feeling non troppo
Who was the most memorable character of War and Remembrance and why?
pug; his stoic repressed feelings hinted at,because his marriage is reexamined because of the war, and inconsolable at the death of the son he adored

A completely amazing historical account of WW2
As it's predecessor "Winds of War" captured the sentiment of pre-war history, this book picks up where it left off, with the same characters (plus additional characters as well), and dives right into the European and Pacific Theaters. It goes into great detail of the issues the Jewish people had to face. Simply masterful!!It's an investment of 56 hours of the listeners time, but we'll worth the effort. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing book and phenomenal narrator
The author's stated purpose is "to bring the past to life" and he does a gripping job of it. The book kept my attention for the entire 40+ hours and brought me to laughter, tears and horror.
The narrator gave a stunning performance - voices, accents, languages and even singing were all superbly mastered.
I had read this book many years ago in the print version. This was even better.
