Not my favorite by this author
This story felt like it missed the mark for me. I very much enjoyed ALL the other WWII novels by this author. “When We Were Brave” was incredible.
I found myself distracted and disengaged with the story. Was it the narrator or the story itself? Not sure. I listened at 1.3-1.4 speed. The ending made me cry and I liked the characters. However the book didn’t offer much more information about the Night Witches than what you can read on Wikipedia.

Could not make it to the end.
I love books about World War 2 and was looking forward to reading "We Fly Beneath the Stars" but I am sorry that wasted my time and money for the book. None of the characters were very likeable and the story seemed far fetch. This may be a book you want to give a pass.

A Totally Amazing and Interesting Must Read !!
Wow !! I have not been so Engrossed and Moved by a Story in a Long Time !! I cannot say enough about this book or Author !! Susanne Kelman is a new author for me ; I can't wait to get my hands on more of her books !! The story she weaves into True History was so good ; I was Up late many nights with a book too good to put down!!!
