Non-verbal communications

The author did a great job discussing his background and how to utilize the things that he’s learned and his link the FBI career. He also goes to great links to make sure that you are using things appropriately and not making mistakes just because you read something in his book. He freely admits that he miss reads people regularly and does not have a lock on determining who was a liar and who is not. He goes to great links to make sure people understand but observing people over multiple times gives you a chance to create a baseline of behavior. And he then can make an assessment as to whether or not somebody is being truthful or not adores just nervous or not etc.

I like the narrator a lot. I thought he did a great job and sounded like the author might read the book himself. It wasn’t overly “acted-out” nor read in a dry or emotionless manner. He has a very pleasant voice to listen to you for a link the book.

I will likely listen to this again as there are many good points that he brings up that I think would be helpful to notice and focus on in my interpersonal communications with my family friends and clients.

I had no idea at how much I spoke to people through my body until I read this book. being in the military and law enforcement I wish I would have read this book in 2008 when it was published.

Good book but missing referenced PDF.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

This audiobook is well written and well performed. One does come across references in the audio version that references a table of illustrations representing what one should look for. Descriptions used are passable enough not to need them but it causes questions as to what the audience might be missing.

Any additional comments?

Contextually useful. Would be fun to listen to a continuation of thought by how to approach different situations to provoke the nonverbal language. Would rate it higher if I could see PDF.

Very useful information

As a teacher I've relied often on Body language to read the tone of my class, my students and how the message is being received. This book confirmed a lot of what I already knew and expanded my intuition on what I was reading in people.

Very informative. Writer reminds us too many times that he was in the FBI... ok... we get it. But if you can look past this, it's a wonderful audiobook and the supplemental PDF is wonderful.

HIghly recommend if you are in social, retail, education or executive positions.

More an announcer than a narrator

Found this hard to listen to as the narrator is clear, but sounds like he is announcing versus reading. Found the story and body language clues interesting. Not so easy to apply, but has the inclined me to watch people's feet and hands!

It was a good listen. Very informative.

Don't expect to become a human lie detector. I plan to use it for my own improvement in personal and business interactions.
