Faith to go on

Faith to go on despite unanswered questions. Love the last 10/15 minutes especially—very hope filled-will re-listen to that part possibly daily

Truth in a world of half-truths and lies

This is a true summary of scripture that we as believers are called to trust God even when we don’t understand the hardships that befall us in life. Our comfort is that our pain is temporary and we have an eternity of blissful joy to look forward to with God and with our loved ones who died in Christ.

Excepting this life as it is

Everything in this life is temporary....this is a very frank discussion about the hardships in this life. The author talks straight but rounds it all out but challenging us to have a different perspective when we consider the obstacles we face.

Learning to trust in God Time & will

Loved the book, it helps you to see God’s heart for us and lets you see the root evil. Also it reminds us to wait with faith for his time to answer, and that his will is perfect for us.

I love the analogy of the vine that grew on their tree.
I would recommend this book to anyone who feels outcast.
I think the book deserves much credit and could help many that have lost their hope in life.

Amazing, what a beautiful illustration of how great God is when he doesn’t make sense.

Comforting in the storm of life

This book has been a source of comfort for me. It’s help to change my heart from despair to encouragement. We all have times for trouble, Jesus said we would. In that hour is hurt, we have 2 binary choices; run away from God or towards him. Running away leads to despair, running towards by faith alone leads to love.

Great book, not so great narrator

The book, for me, was 5 star. I love Dr James Dobson and listened to a few excerpts read by the man himself on his broadcast, which is what interested me in the book. There are some really heart wrenching bits in the book. I feel like this is one that Dr Dobson should have read himself. He's a great speaker and doesn't seek to hide emotion when it's warranted. However, the narrator of this book is what caused me to lose focus on the stories sometimes. Very dry reading and sort of monotone.

Good book for difficult times

Narrator sounds like a young Dr Dobson. Book answers questions for those lost or in pain. While Dr Dobson isn't a theologian, he understands much & shares his understanding in this book. I would recommend this book highly, but also follow up with others, who are theologians & have a deeper, more thoroughly studied understanding of why God does what He does (like Lee Stroebel or N.T. Wright). Simply Christian is a marvellous book for those seeking understanding.
