Publisher's summary

Babe Walker, center of the universe, is a painstakingly manicured white girl with an expensive smoothie habit, a proclivity for Louboutins, a mysterious mother she's never met, and approximately 50 bajillion Twitter followers. But her "problems" have landed her in shopping rehab - that's what happens when you spend $246,893.50 in one afternoon at Barneys. Now she's decided to write her memoir, revealing the gut-wrenching hurdles she's had to overcome in order to be perfect in every way, every day. Hurdles such as:

  • I hate my horse.
  • Every job I've ever had is the worst job I've ever had.
  • He's not a doctor, a lawyer, or a prince.
  • I'll eat anything, as long as it's gluten-free, dairy-free, low-carb, low-fat, low-calorie, sugar-free, and organic

In an Adderall-induced flash of inspiration, Babe Walker has managed to create one of the most enjoyable, unforgettable memoirs in years.

Amazing performance

The book was funny but not LOL funny. I liked it overall, I think I liked it so much because of the performance. Beforehand, I hyped this book up so much but it wasn't as amazing as I thought. Good overall.

So good!

This book is hilarious! I especially enjoyed it because it reminded me of my friends who are just as out of touch as this girl. It is an exaggeration of many typical white girl problems. Really funny and worth listening to on a road trip.

A romp in 6" Albino Crocodile Stuart Weitzmans!

Tavia Gilbert is one of my favorite narrators. And her reading of White Girl Problems is the best I've heard yet. With only one exception (a Jamaican accent is *not* easy), her voicing of every character is outstanding and her pacing is spot on. The book is extremely funny. It gives you permission to laugh 'til you snort at how ludicrous some people can be. For Christmas this year I want Ms. Gilbert to voice-over every entry on the Babe Walker blog!

Entertaining

If you could sum up White Girl Problems in three words, what would they be?

Over-Dramatic, Hilarious, Problematic

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Unexpectedly enjoyed it. I thought it brought the book full circle.

What about Tavia Gilbert’s performance did you like?

Excellent... she captured Babe's spirit, bitchiness and narcissism.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The only problem, is white girl.

Any additional comments?

Don't expect a Pulitzer here. I knew what I was getting into as, I follow BW on twitter and have read her blog. This was exactly what I thought it was going to be and better. BW has a charm for creating her own white girl problems. I think that anyone could relate at some point or another... If not, you have no soul, jk. But really, its an easy, laughable listen. Enjoy lightheartedly!

Hysterical

I loved this, I was literally laughing aloud. You want to hate her, you really do...but you just can't. Tastes a little like Mean Girls....fun listen!

Hilarious!!!

I am a huge Tavia Gilbert fan. When I discovered she narrated the book, I was curious so I listened to the 5 min sample. I laughed so hard until I cried. If you are interested in being cheered up, get this book. Tavia's comedy delivery is spot on flawless. I am a big fan of Babe Walker although I really love her alter ego Babette!

love the voice of this book

The voice of this book without narration is amazing. Babe Walker feels so real. I get the tongue-in-cheek idea of her but it still felt like everyone has struggles no matter their walk in life. I had several laugh-out-loud moments but more than that I felt myself rooting for her despite the fact that she was a complete narcissist with no basis in reality. I absolutely loved the choice of narrator as it felt like her voice was truly Babe Walker. I have taken to listening to books on audio as I no longer have time to read and was so happy with my choice. I am a writer as well and I'm pretty picky about what I read or in this case listen to. A friend felt I would love this and she was not wrong. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a good read or listen that will entertain and make you have some feels.
