About this listen

A chance to start over...

Eryk's dreams continue to show him visions of his past. This time, it is about when he and Kari were forced into the Endless Desert, a harsh and arid land where the strong rule the weak and creatures known as lamia terrorize humans.

In the present day, Eryk continues to train with Fay Valstine, meet with Kari Astralia, and try to convince his new house pet to behave itself. Lazy and arrogant snakes that sneak into his bed aside, he cannot say he's not enjoying life. But he also hasn't forgotten his purpose. To get stronger, protect Nevaria, and defeat the Great Overlord of the Seventh Realm.

But when Eryk finds himself running out of the funds he needs to refine alchemy pills, he must contact the head of the Alchemist Association, Feinrea Kunis, and convince her and Fay's father to join him in a joint business venture that will hopefully solve his financial problems. If he can't convince them to work with him, then he can kiss his dreams of growing strong enough to achieve his goals goodbye.

please release more

Thank you for giving us a great novel to listen too keep up the good work but I wish you had a forewarning every time we switched between the past and present it can be very confusing when listening but all in all I see no other problems. I'm looking forward to seeing more novels written by you.

still good

wprked all day as I read this with my ear holes. during this time span I began formulating an opinion on what I was hearing. noting that this is the second of the audiobooks I liked the way the story was progressing and enjoyed the drama that happened whilst I toiled. I do however think the flashbacks at the beginning of every chapter are a little uneeded but it also adds some depth to the characters. ready for the next one.

I'm glad I choose this

This series is really interesting. characters are interesting and fun to listen to. Great back story although you do have to pay attention while the narration goes back and forth in time. I did purchase this AB and would recommend it.

Great Story

While the X-rated parts were a bit much and in no uncertain way NSFW or anywhere public. The story and characters keep you listening until the end. Leaving you wanting more!

Better than volume 1

We actually get a completed plot line in this volume! Eryk needs money. He asks for help from the alchemist and Fay’s family to make money. They agree to sell his items for a cut of the profits at the local auction. Eryk makes money. The end.
It isn’t terribly complex; but it’s better than the NOTHING we got in volume 1. There is still a lack of conflict but that seems to be setup towards the end of this volume. I’m also enjoying the new female narrator. The old one wasn’t bad but the new voice seems to fit the characters better to me.
I do still have some gripes. The biggest being that it feels way too convenient for the other characters to blindly trust Eryk like they do. Fay’s father has begun a business with him and even suggested an engagement with Fay while barely knowing anything about him. Sure, he saved Fay’s life but even she hasn’t questioned him about he has so much advanced knowledge about the world. At the very least she should be more curious than she is.
The romance still feels way too fast paced, but that also ties into the characters not asking Eryk the important questions. It’s barely been a month in the new timeline and both Kari and Fay are head over heels for him. Eryk did heal Fay at least but with Kari it feels way less earned at this point. The romantic scenes are also so sappy I could cover my pancakes with them.
The last thing is everything to do with the snake. None of the characters, including Eryk, seem to care at all that this giant ass serpent is just hanging around them now. Granted, I have read ahead so I know where this leads but that just makes this setup seem even more lazy. Could the author not come up with any kind excuse to keep the snake around beyond just “Well, it’s here know so deal with it”? Whatever I guess.
Some of this might have sounded too harsh but I did genuinely enjoy this volume. A lot more than the first one anyway. I sincerely hope this level of improvement continues as the series goes on!

keep this series coming

I was a little hesitant about this series when I finished the first book, but now that I finished the second I'm really into it and I'm looking forward to the next few books coming out.

Totally enjoyed

Keeping this short. Completely and thoroughly enjoyed the continuation of this book, that reads like a manga. Love the story, the character and the development; even the pace is well done. The author (so far) has been able to make both the flashbacks and current timeline work fluidly, so as to make the story cohesive and entertaining. As long as that can be maintained, and the story does not begin to feel dragged on for no apparent reason, then great things can happen here. Truly looking for to the future installments for this book...!
