About this listen

Love is full of bad clichés.

Falling for your boss.

The widowed dad and the nanny.

How did Darcy manage to find both of them in Ryder? His broken heart and wounded pride means he only sees her as an employee in his company and part-time caregiver for his son.

Until another cliché surprises them both: the old broken elevator trap.

Suddenly, the dark desire and overwhelming need to possess Darcy that he’s kept buried begins to break out. Can his perfectly ordered life survive discovering love again?

Wild Embrace

Wild Embrace is the 11th book in the Wilder Irish series. This book is about Ryder and Darcy and is told from both of their points of view. This book is about a single parent/nanny troupe.

After losing his wife Ryder has a hard time believing in love. Darcy has been there for Ryder while working for him and has developed a crush.

When an elevator gets stuck and they are forced together things happen. Ryder sees there is more to Darcy than he originally thought. Will his feelings develop more than friendship? How does his son play into their story?

I enjoyed this book as well as this series, and can't wait to read more from it.

Sweet and sexy !

This was my first Mari Carr book and now i want to back and start the Collins Clan series from the beginning. Darcy and Tyler both captured my heart immediately. Cute and witty grumpy-sunshine age-gap workplace romance. Darcy has kept a long standing crush on Tyler since she was a teen but his life is full of secrets that have left him jaded and skeptical of relationships. And a broken elevator comes to the rescue and Insta-lust soon turned into love. For a while I doubted the HEA and i got a bit nervous but Mari Carr delivers a wonderful finale.. Narrators were completely new to me and were a wonderful surprise especially the passionate parts. I like the subtle D/s dynamic which makes everything so much spicier. Daniels and Connor Brown delivered a wonderful narration. Thoroughly enjoyed it,

Excellent continuation of series

I am completely enjoying this series by Mari Carr. This time we get a hopeless romantic (Darcy) and love isn't real (Ryder) storyline. Ryder lost his wife four years ago, and Darcy fell for him afterwards. She has waited for him to notice her while working with him at his company as well as his part time nanny. With forced proximity, he finally sees her. My heart ached for both of them so much. This steamy, heartwarming story ended with a beautiful HEA. Looking forward to the next one!

Lee Daniels and Connor Brown are excellent narrators. They once again brought us an emotional performance that had this audiobook rolling like a movie in my head.

Book 11 - Wilder Irish, can be standalone

This is book 11 in Carr's Wilder Irish series and another wonderful addition to the series but can easily be read/listened to as a standalone. The dual narration talents of Lee Daniels and Connor Brown were fantastic and really brought not only our main characters but all to life. Our main characters here are Darcy Young and Ryder Hagen. Ryder is a widow and Darcy has not only been his kid's babysitter but now she works for him in the corporate world as well. Darcy has fancied herself in love with Ryder for years now and in a freak event Ryder sees Darcy in a whole new light. But will their mutual attraction be enough for a HEA or will the ghosts that haunt Ryder keep him from a happiness he never believed was possible? I love the Collins' crazy family and truly feel I'd fit right in with this bunch! I adore every book I've had the opportunity to read / listen, and I can't wait for more!

Age gap

This is an age gap romance with a great sense of friendship and family. Loved the characters and how well the story flow was. I enjoyed reading this story.

The narration was done really well.

Wild Embrace

This is the eleventh book in the Wilder Irish Series. This is Darcy and Ryder’s story. Darcy is the youngest of Pop Pop’s grandchildren. She has been imagining her love story since she was a little girl. She always imagined to have a love like her Pop Pop’s and Grandma Sunday’s. She often compared it to The Princess Bride love story. She has been babysitting for Ryder’s son for the past four years. Darcy had become smitten with Ryder the first year. She knew he wasn’t in the right place to have a relationship again. So she was determined to wait until he was ready. Now that she is 25years old she is ready to start changing his mind. Ryder is a single dad with a very unique living situation. He is ten years older than Darcy, and has never really noticed her as a woman. On Halloween night when the city wide blackout happened, Darcy and Ryder got stuck in the elevator at work with a giant bottle of alcohol. That was the first night he started seeing Darcy as the beautiful woman she has become. Their relationship was a bumpy one. Ryder had a lot of hang ups to get past, but it worked out in the end. Lee Daniels and Connor Brown did a great job narrating this book.

Darcy and Ryder

Going after what she wants, Darcy refuses to stop until she convinces Ryder to give them a chance. Once Ryder comes to terms with the drama from his past, he and Darcy find their HEA they both deserve.

Great narration by Lee Daniels and Connor Brown. Love this big Irish family by Mari Carr.

love this family

Ryder's wife passed away 4 years ago. Darcy worked for him as his child's babysitter.
Even though there is a 10 year age difference, she knew he was the one for her. She waited for the timing to be right. she is working at his company, hoping that he would look at her as a young woman not as the babysitter. Now a stuck elevator and a bottle of alcohol made a change in the way he sees her.
Poppop and the crazy Collins' family are a fun bunch that I enjoy in this series.
Lee Daniels and Connor Brown narration is emotional and very good.

Pleasure vs Guilt

Ryder is a single dad who was widowed when his wife left him for another man. He is raising his son with her ex and their son. Yeah, crazy family dynamics. Enter Darcy, the babysitter. Darcy isn't even old enough to drink, yet she is in love with Ryder. But he pays her no attention. Until one fateful night. Things happen that he regrets and he tells her it can't happen again. But Darcy won't accept that. They start a "secret" benefits only relationship, but it becomes too much for Ryder and, yet again, he calls it quits. He wants her, but the age difference bothers him. Plus, add in the fact his wife left him for another man, so he believes he can't commit to a relationship. His job and his son are first priority. Her family get togethers become too much for him to deal with. He's not used to that much family and everyone in everyone else's business.

Will Darcy convince him that the age difference doesn't matter? Will Ryder loosen his strings and see what life could be like? Will her family give them space to figure things out?

Lee Daniels and Connor Young are both new to me narrators. Lee portrayed Darcy's mature youth (yeah a bit of an oxymoron). Connor portrayed Ryder's guilt and pleasure push-pull quite well.
