Publisher's summary
An aspiring author writing under a pen name accidentally sparks a crime in this sweetly suspenseful historical romance!
It’s a good thing she’s secretly courting a gunsmith who’s been working hard to teach her a thing or two about self-defense. However, secrets have a way of piling up and coming back to haunt a person (especially in small towns like Cedar Falls), and Rose Marie Addington’s growing pile of secrets is no exception to this rule.
For a woman who spends so much time reading and writing about happily-ever-afters, she can’t help but worry if true love is strong enough to conquer all in her own harrowing, real-life adventure.
NOTE: This title was previously part of the Belles of Wyoming series and the Border Brides Series. It has since been rewritten and re-edited to be a part of the BRIDES OF CEDAR FALLS SERIES — uplifting historical romance stories full of faith, hope, love, and cowboys!

Story
Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. And find the house has only one bed. Located under a mirrored ceiling.

Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart.

Another great book!
I dislike the virtual voice reading, it often mispronounces words. And the lack of emotion is bleh! I love the book. The story was great and sweet!
I have a good imagination so I was able to mentally picture the emotions, totally no thanks to the virtual voice!
