About this listen
Social talent star Louise Pentland brings us her enchanting and inspiring audiobook.
You'll never forget the day you met #RobinWilde!
'Four years, 2 months and 15 days of single-mum-dom. Didn't someone say this was supposed to get easier?'
It's time for Robin Wilde to change. Her. Life.
Robin Wilde has a beautiful six-year-old daughter, a job she's really rather good at, a wonderful best friend and an auntie who is bonkers, yes, but loves her to the moon and back. But Robin has a secret. Behind the mask she carefully applies every day, she can't shift the grey, lonely feelings of The Emptiness.
She struggles to fit in with the school mum crew, online dating is totally despair-inducing and she worries all the time about raising her daughter with self-confidence, courage and joy. What Robin wants, more than anything, is someone (over the age of six) to share her life with. But Robin Wilde isn't one to wallow. If change won't come to her, she'll just have to go out there and find it.
Exciting new opportunities are about to come Robin's way.... Perhaps a man, perhaps the promise of an adventure.... What will Robin do with the possibilities she creates? And when her perfect moment comes, will Robin be brave enough to take the leap?
Enchanting and uplifting. Very funny. This audiobook will make you feel fantastic just for being you.

It was okay
I normally like these type of stories. Not sure why but was bored several times throughout the story although there were some interesting parts.

Mehh?
It wasn't a bad story, just a bit predictable and cliché.. ok to pass the time though. Nothing to thrill me or something very memorable, apart from little Layla being so cute and having such cool lines. For the rest, just a story of a suburban, young, and super insecure mother who tries to make it through a life that she's making hard for herself?

Not great, not bad
This book walks the ok line pretty well, there were moments when I thought it was going to cross the line into great but alas it did not. Worth listening too but not one I would do over and over again.

Kind of mopey, kind of okay
I felt as if each chapter contained so much moping that it was hard to continue. I understand that Robin was going through a lot as a single mother, but she complained about the same things over and over again, it felt as if I was getting annoyed by her complaining as opposed to feeling sympathetic towards her.
I think the performance was nice. This is my first audio book so I am extremely unbiased for these sort of things. There were times when it was hard to distinguish between a character speaking and the narration, however. Also, sometimes what was being said didn’t match the tone of voice (ie sounding sad and hushed when someone was saying something nice). Lastly, the young daughter and one of the mom friends had very similar voices, which was off-putting.
Overall, I enjoyed this. I wouldn’t necessarily suggest it to a friend unless they are fans of the author, but I am glad I listened to it.

A sprinkle of glitter
I really enjoyed it. I've followed Louise on YT for a long time, so listening to this story was fun.

Not for me
The main character was not that likeable. The self degrading portions of the book were a bit much. Repetitive and exhausting. The other characters were great. But it felt like half of the book was full of the main character obsessing and feeling sorry for herself and being weak. The other half was the actual story.

Lovely!
Heartwarming, charming, and funny! It's full of strong women supporting, and loving one another. Beautifully written, and well read by the narrator. Can't wait for book two to catch up with Robin, and all the lovely ladies in this story.

Loved it!
I've followed Louise Pentland for years now, and I adore her on YouTube. When she announced that she'd written a novel, I have to admit I was sceptical. The idea of yet another book by a Youtuber had me rolling my eyes a bit, but I was so pleasantly surprised. This story is very well-written, and I found myself looking forward to waitng in my car to pick up my children from school or work just so I could listen to it. The narrator is lovely to listen to, the story is relatable and entertaining, and I can't wait to start the sequel. Well done, Louise! Thank you for this quality product!
