About this listen

Jael Furyck isn’t happy. Her father is dead. Her uncle has stolen the throne.

And now, her uncle wants to marry her off to the fallen son of her arch-enemy. But Jael is a battle-hardened warrior, trained to kill since she was 10-years-old. She doesn’t plan on being anyone’s wife.

Eadmund Skalleson is drunk. His father is threatening him with a wife again. And this time he’s given him an ultimatum. Marry Jael Furyck or your brother returns from exile. But if Eadmund was ever going to choose a wife, it wouldn’t be Jael Furyck. Not her. Not ever.

Winter’s Fury is the first book in The Furyck Saga, a gripping epic-fantasy series that takes you into a richly woven world of warring kingdoms, mysterious dreamers, dark magic, and an ancient prophecy that emerges from the shadows to weave a dangerous web around them all....

Solid.

Takes it a minute to get all the characters and history straight. Well worth it to get into the story. Several perspectives, personalities, vulgar language. Recommended. Starting the next book

Winter’s Fury Rocks!

Our heroine leaves Xena in the dust. The action is nonstop. The humor is both dark and tongue in cheek.
Loved the written book, loved this audiobook.
Kudos to Ms. Williams energized and exciting narration.
Can’t wait to get to the next audiobook in the series.

Strong female lead

The female lead is strong both physically and emotionally. I love how this story progresses, the “sidekick” characters are well written and the storyline never lags. I appreciate that even though the story continues there isn’t an unnecessary cliffhanger ending just for the sake of drama.

My only beef would be that sometimes following the multiple storylines that switched back and forth was difficult because the character voices were distinct enough. That said, I can’t wait for the next installment, I’ve already downloaded it.

Amazing fast paced intriguing adventure!

Not a dull second! Character build up is done to perfection, the story moves along at a fast pace and you just don’t want to put this book down! The narrator does and excellent job! Bravo to her! This book is a new favorite of mine! So hard to come across one like this one. So, I’ll stop here because I can’t wait to listen to the next one! I do highly recommend it.

Solid start with a great Narrator.

I did have a few issues with the story. The biggest one being how much that I hate almost everything about augury/omen/divination. Regardless of the origin of the divination (magic, gods, etc..) or the interpretation of said omen... it takes the human element out of the story. That being said, I still enjoyed this story. I think that the talent of the narrator was some of the reason I did so. There are a few things that might offend some people. Rape, forced marriages, alcoholism. The story is set in a Viking/ Medieval setting...these things were not unrealistic (back then, or now for that matter), and not done in a way that glorifies them. I will be getting the next in the series. (and I will be checking to see if I can get Finty as my voice for Alexa...)
