Story
Bruce Shelley's classic history of the church brings the story of global Christianity into the 21st century. Like a skilled screenwriter, Shelley begins each chapter with three elements: characters, setting, plot. Taking you from the early centuries of the church up through the modern era he tells a story of actual people, in a particular situation, taking action or being acted upon, provides a window into the circumstances and historical context, and from there develops the story of a major period or theme of Christian history.

Dominion explores the implications of this shocking conviction as they have reverberated throughout history.

It is the supreme authority in Islam and the living source of all Islamic teaching; it is a sacred text and a book of guidance that sets out the creed, rituals, ethics, and laws of the Islamic religion. It has been one of the most influential books in the history of literature. In this revised and expanded edition, the author addresses criticisms of the original, adds new argumentation and references, and refines his presentation.

Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible.

Coffee table book-not good for Audible
This book is not good for Audible unless you are truly hearing impaired. There are clearly many images being described and the reading goes through the book through all the related descriptions in line with the main chapter writings. As such, it is oddly repetitive and often times disjointed. It lacks linear progression through the respective religions making it very difficult to follow. I can see where this would be a good book to read hard copy, but it doesn't translate well to Audible.
