False Advertising

This book is about SS concentration camp guards not Waffen SS soldiers. The book is not about combat at all but concentration camp goings on.

Billed as Waffen SS stories but the majority are simply SS stories

Billed as Waffen SS stories but the majority are simply SS stories. Almost all of it revolves around concentration camps, if you want combat stories, look elsewhere. Did not finish.

This book did exactly what I thought it would

It pissed me off. Yes this Arian blue eyed man I would have been jailed for getting close to and then killing Hitler. I have listened to and have researched the allies side of the war, so naturally I wanted to hear the axis. This book leaves no doubt in my mind that these people were evil true evil.

Not exactly uplifting

It is history, so I respect that aspect, but I prefer to listening to something that is a description of history or stories of hardship and heroism. These are the personal accounts of concentration camp guards. Not pleasant to listen to.

The Usual Holo prop

False advertising, pretty suspect in general. Wouldnt be suprised if the whole book is fiction.

Do not waist your time.

This "novella" is a complete poop show. It only cost a couple of bucks, no wonder; save the money for a latte.

Buyer beware

This book is not about the fighting men of the Waffen SS. All of the supposed stores are from allgemeine SS, concentration camp guards.

Not worth your time.

I chose this book based on the title about "Waffen SS Soldiers" but what I got was a book about concentration camp guards and malingerers. If you are looking for stories of Waffen SS fighting men then DO NOT CHOOSE THIS BOOK. I am somewhat suspect about the accounts and the "translations" of the individual's accounts because, among other things, they use the terms Waffen SS and Army soldier interchangeably. As a former US Marine I know I would never use the terms Marine and soldier interchangeably and I find it hard to believe that other actual elite troops like the Waffen SS would allow themselves to be confused with regular German Army troops. Overall a very poor experience from an Audible book. Buyer beware.
