About the narrator

Joanne Froggatt is an English stage, film and television actress who shot to fame after her engaging portrayal of Downton Abbey's Anna Bates. Joanne Froggatt is wonderful!

This book is hard at first because none of the characters are very likeable! But once you understand that that is the point, you will see that the story is really interesting and well done. Joanne Froggart is a great narrator.

Excellent narration

Joanne Froggatt performs each character exceedingly well. Each has its own distinct voice conveying the personality.

The early 1800’s language took some getting used to, but it is a captivating story and well worth the listen.

Ughh - Sadistic Melodrama

Why is this a classic? Hoped to love this but certainly didn't. Found it hard, unenjoyable going and was relieved to reach the end of this grim, dull story.

just after finishing this story I wasn't sure that I liked it. after sitting with it for a few weeks though I found that I thought more and more of the story and really came to appreciate the tale it told.

So good.

Joanne Froggatt brings this story alive. She does an excellent job. Her characters become so real. Cannot recommend enough.

The Heights

This a story of a demented gentleman who lives in a house that doesn’t belong to him, a wife married to someone else, and a child of no relation. The gentleman’s greed sucks the life out of everything it touches and even the loss of love is not enough to pierce his stony heart. This book is worth the time to read as it shows what faces people wear and the words they have “written in their heads and printed on their heart.”

Best audiobook ever!!

I’ve read this story many times and have never enjoyed a performance of it in any form as much as I do Joanne Froggatt’s narration. I’m about to listen to it again as my more recent selections have left me restless and longing for great narration. This performance sets the bar quite high. I really think it’s my favorite audiobook ever.

Great Narration of a Romantic Classic!

I have read Wuthering Heights several times over the years, and this narration did not let me down. Joanne Froggatt has different voices for the characters, and the accents sound authentic to this American ear. Joseph’s dialect is hard to understand; but that is not the fault of the narrator. If you haven’t read this Gothic love story yet, you should listen to this version.

INCREDIBLE VOICE ACTOR

I am so happy I came across Joanne Froggatt's reading of one of my favourite classics!! She does a brilliant job in alllll the voices for each character . I was beyond impressed, in awe!

Awesome Reader, Not so Awesome Story

I really enjoyed listening, but didnt care for the tale. the performer did an excellent jon witg uaing different voices for the characters and potraying the emotion behind it. it was my first time "reading" this book and I have to say I was whelmed with it.
