Acerca de esta escucha
98% of self-published books suck. But among the 2% are The Martian, 50 Shades of Grey, and—wait for it—A Christmas Carol. When Matt Rudnitsky's first self-published book earned $14,000 in profits and an offer from Simon & Schuster ... he was shocked. But Matt quickly realized "getting published" is a glorified scam, and you can reach the same audience (and earn ~5x the profits) by self-publishing.
If you know what you're doing, that is.
Matt insists that anyone can equal or surpass his success (and self-publish a true "classic") ... if they follow the steps in this book.
This isn't your ordinary "book about writing books." It's real, no-BS advice from someone who's done it—and has learned from the dozens of successes and failures of himself and his clients—from self-help to memoir to business, and everything in between. It demystifies every single step of the book writing process, from ideation to validation to outlining to writing habits, publishing and marketing.

Horrible narration!
The first part of the book is relatively interesting. He has some good points about how to write and market your book. That’s why I gave two of the reviews two stars. But there’s too much repetition of the main concept. It appears he’s limited in his ideas.
Far worse than that, the narration is intolerable. I can hear the narrator breathing and smacking his lips and making strange sounds throughout the reading. It’s very distracting as well as annoying. He also stumbles a lot and rather than edit it, he just continues and leaves those mistakes in the narration. In one case he repeated the same stumbling on a group of words at least three times. Maybe four. I’m sure they are many platforms on the Internet that can be used to edit a narrative.
Also, this book needs editing. I think too many authors are so self satisfied, they don’t see the need to have an editor help them. This book is in dire need of a good editor. Not only the narration part, but the actual text.
In addition, the author reads his work with almost zero enthusiasm. It’s as though he’s bored with his own work. And that makes me, the listener, bored.
I don’t believe most authors are capable of reading their own books with any success. Ted Turner is an exception. Listen to his and you will find a totally entertaining narration. But unless you’ve been trained, I don’t believe you would have the ability to infuse a book with enthusiasm and a sense of newness that a hired narrator can give.
In the end, I did not finish the book. The distractions of his raspy voice, clearing his throat, breathing sounds, stumbling over his own words and sounding completely bored, plus way too much repetition lost me. If an author can’t sound professional narrating his book, how am I supposed to think he has anything worth listening to???

The narration suffered from a noticeable absence of care and preparation.
While the book contains valuable information, its overall impact is significantly diminished by the subpar narration quality. The narrator's unedited mistakes, distracting mouth sounds, clicking, and irregular flow detract from the otherwise useful content. Regrettably, the narration's poor quality overshadows the book's potential, and I intend to request a refund.
