About this listen
Get ready to leave defeat and disbelief in your dust, and step boldly into the life God has purposed for you from the beginning.
It's tough when your gifts and passions are stuck in holding patterns of insecurity, shame, and comparison. But the truth is, every experience of your life has prepared you to live out your God-given purpose in this exact moment. The world is hurting and our lives are waiting, we don't have time stay stuck—we've got to make a move.
You Are the Girl for the Job is not an empty catchphrase. It's the straight-up truth God has proclaimed over your life from the beginning. It's not a statement about your capacity, but rather about His—and that's why we can dare to believe it's true.
With powerful insights and heart-pumping hope, bestselling author Jess Connolly is here to coach you through six steps toward empowered purpose:
- #1 Call It Quit (You'll see, it's the best place to start)
- #2 Find Your People
- #3 Use What You've Got
- #4 Face Your Fear
- #5 Catch the Vision
- And finally, #6 Make Your Move
You don't have to hide, hold back, or wait for permission when God calls you forward. Let this book—as well as the study guide and video study (sold separately)—be your jumpstart into confident, purposed living.

A more abundant life is within your reach. Join Jess Connolly as she casts a fresh vision for how to break free of cheap grace and empty rule-keeping and change the world rather than be changed by it. Grace is always good news, but it's not cheap. True grace compels us to change, and that's where holiness comes in. Dance, Stand, Run charts Jess's discovery that holiness was never meant to be a shaming reminder of what we "should" do, but rather a profound privilege of becoming more like Christ.

Story
For all the fullness of God available to his daughters, we often feel limited by two defining insecurities: "I am too much" and "I am not enough". Jess and Hayley felt the same until one essential question turned the tables: If God is wild and free and he created women, what does this mean for us today? Wild and Free is an invitation to find freedom from the cultural captivity that holds us back, and freedom to step into God's wild and holy call in our lives. Jess and Hayley answer difficult questions that so many women have asked them over the years.

Through personal experience and countless conversations, speaker and Bible teacher Jennie Allen has come to realize that most of us need to unlearn some deeply damaging messages about our emotions. We've been taught, for example, that emotions are untrustworthy when, in fact, they are a gift from God to help us notice what is wrong and where we need to heal. Your emotions are not something to suppress or ignore. They are meant to be felt, examined, and shared.

Changing the culture for the Kingdom
Jess Connolly has a special anointing on her life and the way she rallies together women from all seasons of life to run hard after Jesus and to be real, honest and life-giving along the way! This book is going to help shape and change the culture and language of women in community! Not only does this book teach you according to God’s Word it also challenges you to step into and faithfully live out YOUR calling. I plan to give this book as a gift to many ladies running with me and behind me for years to come!

Loved This Book But it Lost Steam
The reviews I read that said it got very "preachy" as it progressed were on point, unfortunately. I loved the book and being preachy usually doesn't bother me. I very much enjoy hearing different perspectives on Biblical teaching and scripture and this had a lot of that, which I loved. My only problem is that I didn't feel like it all kept to the core message and was more of a defense of the author's opinions or perceptions that was unnecessary. Her story was strong and compelling and encouraging. It didn't need the extra admonishment and it made that content somewhat offputting, even for a Christian woman reading it. I felt like it could have gone deeper into other parts of the concept and idea if not for going too hard towards an intense Southern Baptist sermon of types. The book could have had less "preachy" fluff while maintaining Biblical focus and supporting the idea with scriptures and truth. Overall it was encouraging and extremely relatable. I am going to listen to it again because I think the second time I would be more conditioned to the flow of the story and more in tune with the core message. Worth a listen for Christian women needing encouragement.

You Will Be The Girl For The Job When You Are Adobe
This book was such a gift in speaking into the places of the unknown when you feel called. It spoke into fear, questions of enough, questions of purpose and passion, all from a biblical perspective!!
It made you cry as it tugged on sensitive places that might be hiding within and it empowered you as you know the words of truth that followed were God intended for that exact moment! This will be a boom I keep in my arsenal and use again!
It was transforming!

Jess does it again!
Ever since I read Wild and Free in 2015, I have been hooked on the wonderful, heart + hard hitting encouraging spilling out of Jess Connelly’s mouth! I had to get this book and have been so encouraged by it, especially in this season of motherhood as a first time Mom. I have plastered ‘you’re the girl for the job’ all over my house on sticky notes. It’s been my mantra in 2019.
