Publisher's summary

The living dead are more alive than ever! Zombies have become more than an iconic monster for the 21st century: They are now a phenomenon constantly revealing as much about ourselves - and our fascination with death, resurrection, and survival - as our love for the supernatural or post-apocalyptic speculation. Our most imaginative literary minds have been devoured by these incredible creatures and produced exciting, insightful, and unflinching new works of zombie fiction. We've again dug up the best stories published in the last few years and compiled them into an anthology to feed your insatiable hunger….

Hit or miss but ya go for it

Some of the short stories were wonderful. If you are going for this book to hear Neil Gaiman’s offering don’t bother it’s in one of his compilations.
The sci fi ones were meh but many of the 37 were good id say at-least 10 made this worth the time. One had me in tears and one was very clever. The performance was better than some but not my fav.

Some good, some okay

The stories were quite good, I'm not a big fan of the fantasy type zombies but the stories on the whole were good. I had a hard time with Gavin's narration...her voice is grating to me, but might not be to others.

A well blended mix

What did you like best about Zombies: More Recent Dead? What did you like least?

none of the stories were the same, each one took a different spin on the zombie storyline

So many Zombies so little time.

Many of the tales have a new twist or the ending is a surprise. i love zombie tales. i love the struggle that is overcome and the ingenuity of the human spirit. A platitude but still my opinion.

Really, really, REALLY good!

I loved most of the stories. The narrators were EXCELLENT, doing different voices, accents, expressing inflexions and emotions perfectly, without sounding like they were reading, but actually telling stories.
Highly recommend.

Where's the love for RE?

Great stories!

Some really original zombie stuff here! Different types of zombies from your standard to your voodoo to your exo-suit implanted! Really good!

The only complaint is that in the introduction they mention nearly every zombie franchise there is, but somehow neglect to mention Resident Evil. It's hard to believe that this twenty-eight year old, nine billion(yeah!) dollar, video game and movie franchise didn't influence the genre.

Whoa

This is a very hard book to listen to.
All short short stories and no real stories.
It reminded me of listening to bad poetry

Very weak sequel.

I did not enjoy this book. Very few stories were at all interesting. I found this to lean more toward fantasy (yes, I get that zombies are fantastical) rather than horror. They were not remotely frightening and, to me, they were rather tiresome.
