• Is Jesus mad at me?
    Feb 22 2026

After a long bout of sickness, our 7 year old daughter asked, "Is Jesus mad at me?" As heartbreaking as this felt for a us as parents, it's a question adults also struggle with from time to time. Especially when life gets hard and His voice feels distant.

In this episode, Josh and Melissa discuss how they responded to this question. We'll also dive into how the love of God has nothing to do with anything we've done, pulling from scriptures in Titus, Psalms, and 1 Peter.

  • A whisper
    Dec 2 2025

Ever been desperate to hear from God? So was Elijah. In 1 Kings 19 it says God wasn't in the wind, the earthquake, or the fire...He chose to speak to Elijah in a gentle whisper. Why a whisper? Could it be because a whisper would force Elijah to be engaged? Alert? Intently listening for the voice of God?

The world knows how to grab our attention! All it takes is flashy, overly dramatic, and over the top dopamine hits. But God will often choose a different route to speak to His children.

How many times have we been looking for God in the massive moments? He absolutely can speak in loud ways, but there's something special about Him getting our attention through a whisper.

  • Learning to rest when you can't stop
    Nov 10 2025

When's the last time you felt truly rested? It's available to those who call upon Jesus as Lord!

Rest! Not just on vacation, not just at a spa, not just when you're physically still but all day every day.

Multiple times in the Bible you'll find situations where people were able to rest during busy times (Luke 10:38-42; Luke 7:36-50). But the big flex is when Jesus sleeps during a major storm on the Sea of Galilee (Matthew 8:23-27).

If you're in the middle of a storm, chaos, restless seasons, or just busyness...you're being invited to release control and find rest in His presence.

  • Faithful with or without fruit
    Oct 8 2025

It has become normal to crave fast results. Many want to skip the hard work and find the "quick way". We want the blessings but not the brokenness. Will we still be obedient when we don't get fast results? What happens if we never see the fruit of our efforts? Will we still be faithful to the Lord? A huge part of following Christ is waiting, enduring barren seasons, times of deep loneliness...why? Not because God is harsh but because these are the times He refines us, teaches us, and is close to us. These are the moments we truly get to know Him.

The scriptures are filled with examples of this truth lived out. It comes down to our hearts. God doesn't want our offerings and garments...He wants a heart of repentance (Joel 2: 12-13).
