This book made me understand more of loving where I am. I am a high level person in all that I do, but I also get in my way. This book helped me look inside and slow down. Highly recommend!!!!

A Consolidation of Stoic Ideas

I've always loved Stoicism as a whole but I really appreciate having a lot of tenets in one place. especially ordered by specific themes.

Stoic Redux

Farnsworth offers a good understanding of the history of stoicism and the stoic philosophy in “The Practicing Stoic” but it seems more attuned to those who have than those who have-not. Interestingly, Farnsworth teaches law which gives some understanding of how and why a lawyer should represent the guilty as well as the innocent. It is a matter of practicing stoicism.

Well worth the time.

Firstly I thoroughly enjoyed John Lescault narrative his tone and cadence works perfectly with the subject and I will look for more books with his narration. I enjoyed this title and would recommend it to novice stoic and anyone looking to advance their personal abilities to maintain a even temperament. 5 stars all around.

Really great introduction to Stoicism

Great book. A practical overview of Stoicism. Not dry at all. It's not a thriller, but it appears to be contemporary - more so than the book cover. I'm actually requesting the hardback version as a Christmas present from my kids. I will be refencing this book with a yellow highlighter. I also recommended that my sons purchase and read/listen to this book. Excellent content. Excellent organization of topics.

Good overview of Stoicism

I enjoyed the narrators ability to string the writings of great stoics like Seneca and Maximus Aurelius into themed chapters.

Being able to see stoicism as a philosophy of reason is something everyone would benefit from reading/listening to.
