    Why? They’re male. They don’t lay eggs, so they can’t be used in egg production and their body structure is no good for meat. When young Dutchman Wouter Bruins discovered this, he knew he had to act.

This means it can be disposed of before it has hatched, preventing the killing of day-old chicks.
