    Today in 2 Miles South-Southwest Carter Lake, Iowa, we've got a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 pm. It's going to be mostly sunny and hot with a high near 97 degrees and heat index values as high as 109. The southeast wind will be around 7 miles per hour, becoming west-southwest in the afternoon.

    Tonight, expect a 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 pm. It'll be partly cloudy with a low around 69 degrees. The north wind will range from 7 to 9 miles per hour with gusts as high as 16 miles per hour.
