#149: Could My Child Have a Hearing Defect?

  • Summary

  • In this episode of the Parent Them Successful Podcast, we uncover what to look for if you believe your child has an undetected hearing defect. In the IEP world, hearing defects, or as IDEA calls it, possible “Hard of Hearing” eligibility, is considered a low-incidence eligibility category. That means that this eligibility category is somewhat rare and special funding is set aside for these students to access equipment and other tools they may need to access the general curriculum. So, if you suspect your child is suffering from a hearing defect, I will share what to look for, misbehaviors that are often misdiagnosed, and treatment options. So, tune in until the end to learn more about what you need to know.
