Season 7 of 3 Point Firefighter starts here.

Dr. Candace Ashby joins Jake Barnes for a direct conversation about the negative 10% in the fire service—and she does not pretend she was always on the right side of it.

Candace explains how she became checked out during the first half of her career, what changed after her department consolidated with Indianapolis Fire, and why the other 90% must stop giving destructive people an audience. The conversation moves into company-officer responsibility, failed promotional systems, officer development, accountability, and the uncomfortable truth that nobody is coming to save your firehouse.

Dr. Ashby has more than 35 years in the fire service and serves as a Battalion Chief with the Indianapolis Fire Department. She holds a Doctorate of Management in Organizational Leadership and is President of Key Fire Investigations and ELITE Public Safety Consulting.
