Meet Dr. Sharita M. Humphrey is a nationally recognized and award-winning certified financial education instructor and small business advisor. In recognition of her ongoing dedication and efforts to teach financial and business literacy to underserved communities and small businesses, Sharita has been awarded two proclamations from the state of Texas. As a result of her efforts all over the country, Sharita was honored with the title of National Financial Educator of the Year in the year 2020. In the year 2021, Sharita started working with the United States Department of State and the United States Embassy in Namibia to promote financial literacy on a global scale.

Since then, Sharita has collaborated with state and local agencies, nonprofit organizations, financial institutions, and educational institutions. She has presented and developed curricula, workshops, and training programs to increase awareness and education regarding financial and business literacy. To assist emerging entrepreneurs and small businesses in gaining access to educational resources and capital, Sharita served as a resident business advisor for a project that was a collaborative effort between Houston Community College, the City of Houston, and the Spring Branch Independent School District. She is currently serving as the Houston small business advisor for the AccelerateHER Houston cohort at Texas Woman's University.

Sharita has set a goal of purchasing hundreds of acres of land over the next few years to build a family-run farm. Sharita also has a passion for teaching under resourced farmers how to obtain capital to acquire and retain their farmland land for generations to come.
