    Dec 10 2023

For Episode 155, we are joined by our good friend Derrick Weston, host of The Green Lectionary Podcast, to shamelessly plug his new book with co-author Anna Woofenden, The Just Kitchen: Invitations to Sustainability, Cooking, Connection, and Celebration. We’re talking Friends, Faith, and Food — three of our favorite things! To skip our opening mishigas start listening at the 10:25 minute mark.

  • Episode 154: Reframing Body Image and Sexuality to Subvert White Supremacy
    Dec 10 2023

Live from The Wild Goose Festival 2023, it's Episode 154! That's right. We recorded this episode in front of a live audience at The Wild Goose Festival 2023. Joining us on the GooseCast stage was The Transvengelical to discuss how body image and sexuality have been used for centuries as the primary weapons of Western colonization and White Supremacy. To skip our opening mishigas start listening at the 9:50 mark.

We also honored the memory of our dear friend Phil Wyman, a.k.a. The Welsh Troubadour (give the link to the left a click, you will not regret it). We met Phil at our first Goose in 2016, and he has been a frequent guest and major influence on our theology and our philosophy. We love you, Phil!

  • Episode 153, MAID in Canada: The Ethics and Theological Ramifications of Medical Assistance in Dying.
    Dec 10 2023

Proving we are not afraid of any topic, in episode 153 we discuss Canada's Medical Assistance in Dying law passed this last spring. The Canadian MAID law outlines, "a process that allows someone who is found eligible to be able to receive assistance from a medical practitioner in ending their life." To be eligible for medical assistance in dying, you must:

    • have a serious illness, disease or disability
    • be in an advanced state of decline that cannot be reversed
    • experience unbearable physical or mental suffering from your illness, disease, disability or state of decline that cannot be relieved under conditions that you consider acceptable.

All was going fine as we discussed the language and application of the law, but then someone had to mention the theological implications of assisting someone in dying! That's when things got interesting. To skip our opening mishigas start listening at the 20:30 minute mark.
