20231011 ACBDA-Living Better with Diabetes Originally Broadcasted October 11, 2023, on ACB Media 5

Intimacy by the numbers: participants joined ACB Diabetics in Action as we touched on a sensitive topic important to everyone. People often ignore people with disabilities (people who are blind), treat them as children, or take advantage. How does any of this affect self-esteem and comfort with developing intimate relationships? It’s about the real stuff between our ears, and between us as people! Attendees joined Marilyn Volker and Debbie Hazelton, subject matter experts, as we ventured into this journey into personal intimacy. To follow ACB’s Code of Conduct Policy creating a “welcoming and safe environment” our hosts did not take questions live during the call, but rather, we requested that questions be submitted ahead of time, by October 9th at the latest, and our hosts determined what questions they will answer. It is our hope and belief that this initial call will simply begin to bring this important topic to light and that, if there is interest, may afford other opportunities to have future calls on this topic to delve more deeply into the subject matter.
