Liana Kvarchelia is a member of the Board of Directors at the Abkhaz Center for Humanitarian Programs based in Sukhum, Abkhazia. From 1989 to 1992, she headed the English Language Department at Abkhaz State University. During the years 1992 to 1993, she worked with the press service of the Abkhaz government. Between 1993 and 1996, she served as a translator for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia and the administration of the President of Abkhazia. Kvarchelia participated in negotiations under the aegis of the United Nations in Geneva and New York. Since 1994, she has been a volunteer with the Abkhaz non-governmental organization (NGO) "Center for Humanitarian Programs." In 1997, she became the coordinator of the "UN Volunteers in Abkhazia" program.

Dr. Stephen D. Shenfield passed away on 27 April 2023. His passing left behind an influential legacy that spans prison reform, environmentalism, economic justice, and most notably, a deep and comprehensive understanding of the Caucasus.
