    In 2005, 46 year old Thomas Montgomery logged onto a chatroom using the screen name “MarineSniper.” Of the people he messaged with, he quickly grew a fondness for a user named Jessi who used the screen name TalHotBlond. Tom led a double life; one his wife and teenage daughters knew nothing about, that allowed him to pose as a young, spry, handsome 18 year old marine falling in love with a girl he met online. This case is a rollercoaster of lies, deceit, loneliness, and ultimately, irony. In the end, the actions of few resulted in the death of one.
