During his time at Colgate, he made history by becoming the first African American elected as Student Government Association Vice-President, following a successful freshman year. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in History and African/Latin American Studies in 1995, and later obtained his Masters of Arts in Teaching in Secondary School Social Studies in 1997.
