Today we cover the movie that started it all, Alien Nation Directed by Graham Baker Written by Rockne S. O'Bannon Original air date October 7th 1988 Plot Summary: A few years from now, Earth will have the first contact with an alien civilization. These aliens, known as Newcomers, slowly begin to be integrated into human society after years of quarantine but are victims of a new type of discrimination. When the first Newcomer police officer, Sam Francisco is assigned his new partner, he is given Matthew Sykes , a mildly racist veteran, the animosity between them soon gives way to respect as they investigate the Newcomer underworld, and especially Newcomer leader William Harcourt. Today we cover the fifth and final TV movie: The Udara Legacy (we are splitting each 2 hr movie into two podcasts, this is part 2) Directed by Kenneth Johnson Written by Renee Longstreet & Harry Longstreet Original air date July 29th 1997 Plot Summary: Matt and George investigate a series of strange occurrences involving newcomers, who are found to be programmed to carry out someone's dirty work. The method by which they are brainwashed dates back to the slave ship's rebellion group, the Udara, who we find Susan is a part of. Buck decides he wants to follow in his father's footsteps and joins the police academy. Today we cover the fourth of five TV movies: Enemy Within (we are splitting each 2 hr movie into two podcasts, this is part 2) Directed by Kenneth Johnson Written by Diane Frolov & Andrew Schneider Original air date November 12th 1996 Plot Summary: When detectives Sikes and Francisco is presented with the mysterious death of an Eeno, Matt is stupefied to discover that George rudely snubs the case. He, like most newcomers, reviles the outcast Eenos. As the case unfolds, George has to reassess his prejudices, and George's family help save the city from an alien threat originating in an Eeno waste disposal facility.

    Albert approaches George with an unusual request that puts the Francisco's marriage to the test. And Matt and Cathy move in together and find themselves learning more about each other.

Today we cover the second of five TV movies: Body and Soul (we are splitting each 2 hr movie into two podcasts, this is part 2) Directed by Kenneth Johnson Written by Diane Frolov, Andrew Schneider, Renee Longstreet & Harry Longstreet Original air date October 10th 1995 Plot Summary: When a mysterious child is found, many believe she could be a half-human and half-Tenctonese child. Matt and George, with Cathy's help, investigate where this child came from and who her parents may be. The child appears to have a very odd relationship with a large Tenctonese man.

    Meanwhile, Matt and Cathy decide to move their relationship to the next step, which results in injury. They realize that they need to attend an inter-species sex class before becoming intimate, and Buck distresses his parents by his anti-human opinions.
