Animal Chiropractic Clinic Chatter | Interview with Dr. Valentina Degiovanni

  • Summary

  • What is Animal Chiropractic? Is it really a thing?

In today's episode, Dr. O interviews Dr. Valentina Degiovanni, Human and Animal Chiropractor at Bella Vita Chiropractic in Durham, North Carolina. She will share her greatest win as an animal chiropractor and why she decided to add this to her practice.

    About Our Guest:
Before attending Sherman College of Chiropractic, Dr. Valentina studied Kinesiology at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, while there, she discovered the healing benefits of chiropractic from her good friend and now mentor. While in chiropractic school, she joined the school's Gonstead club and became the club vice president for some time. Valentina furthered her knowledge of the Gonstead technique by attending different seminars outside of school as well as completing the ACES animal chiropractic program that is required to sit for the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association exam. Dr. Valentina graduated from Sherman College Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Vale has taken additional courses in extremity adjusting through the International Board of Extremity Chiropractors to broaden her knowledge in caring for shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee, and ankle injuries. Chiropractic care is the cornerstone of our practice. Dr. Amy and Dr. O are certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. This modality helps the nervous system attempt to achieve its maximum potential allowing your animal to function to the best of its ability. They will utilize a series of manual adjustments in an attempt to restore normal motion to the joints of your animal's body. The science of chiropractic care has discovered throughout the last one hundred years that misalignment of joints (subluxation), especially the vertebrae, adversely alters nerve function from around those areas. Altered nerve impulses leaving the spinal column can adversely affect the function of organs and tissues supplied by that nerve. This altered function can lead to pain, disease, fatigue, muscle weakness, poor balance, immune suppression, etc. Animal chiropractic is the art, science, and philosophy that releases the body's inherent recuperative powers and allows the body to deal with the relationship between the nervous system and the spinal column and its associated structures. Remember, the power that made the body heals the body, it happens no other way.
