Started out well ...

But then it kinda went from enjoyably creepy/strange to a bit tedious as the main character never seemed to fully develop and the secondary character - the woman making the recordings- became infinitely more interesting than Dan's story. The ending of the first series was disappointing in terms of imagination and served as a preview for the similarly disappointing second series - which I didn't finish.

Great story but

the way he tried to get people to subscribe was really stupid, and the thing he did at the beginning and end of episodes in the second season are really annoying

All time favorite podcast

Cosmic horror, cosmic beauty, nightmares, and genuine love and affection. This show has everything I crave and a bunch more I didn’t even know I craved until they showed me. I am literally thankful every day for the sheer heights of this story’s majesty.

Unique and compelling characters and sounds

I absolutely cherish this podcast! I’ve listened to it since it first came out and have re listened 4 or 5 times. I discover something new on every listen. The story is so compelling and unique especially in the 2nd and 3rd seasons. the characters are rich and flawed. The combination of beauty, horror, and wonder in the story and soundtrack makes the podcast so unique! The plot and themes are really interesting to dive into and think about. it’s fascinating to listen to something with so much depth to it, that can also make jokes and have slice of life style narratives at times. I also love that it’s not all mystery and questions, especially in the later seasons there’s lots of answers to how the world they’ve built works and what happens to our favorite characters. The soundtrack and songs are beautiful and haunting and so full of emotion.

Great horror adventure

I came here after finding out the Netflix series was based on a podcast and stayed for everything. This is one of my favorite things I’ve listened to this year. It’s so immersive and I couldn’t stop thinking about it when I wasn’t listening.

Since I had seen the show first, I wasn’t that into the first season because it’s so different (really just found interviews on tapes) but things really picked up in the second season. I know a lot of people didn’t like the shift but I was way more attached to the characters starting in season 2. Season 2 also sets up a LOT for season 3, which made the whole experience more rewarding.

I actually accidentally started listening to season 3 first and then couldn’t wait to get back to it as I worked my way through the first two. Honestly, season 3 is a horror/fantasy masterpiece. The writer really did think the whole thing through, the storyline and character arcs are really well done, they definitely fulfilled the promise of not leaving everything at loose ends *cough* LOST *cough*

Just listen, you’ll love it :)

I almost wish I never saw the Netflix series.

Seen the show? Episode 7- 8 is everything the series tried to do hours of a poorly rewritten cinematic take on this brilliant podcast.

I really loved 1st season but I'm starting to get

um starting to get a bit lost!!! gonna keep listening but doggone it!!! all over the place last 3 episodes. I need to finish this before watching to Netflix redo
