    About our Guests Tasia King Tasia King is a trainer, coach, and creative with 7 years of experience teaching second and third grade in Columbia, South Carolina. She became a district-level Technology Integration Specialist after serving 4 years as a school-based Technology and Learning Coach. As a Google Level II Educator, Tasia is dedicated to supporting educators in cultivating a culture that meets the unique needs of every student through personalized and equitable teaching practices. She is a proud 2023-24 SCASCD Emerging Leaders cohort member. Tasia finds great fulfillment in learning experiences related to teacher and student creation and actively engages with educators worldwide to foster professional connections. Connect with her on X @mrstechking! Brian Heyward Brian Heyward is a district Technology Integration Specialist for Richland Two. He holds certifications in Screencastify and Edgenuity. Brian is also a doctoral candidate in educational technology from the University of South Carolina. Brian started his educational career as a choral director and has served as a technology consultant for numerous professional music organizations in South Carolina. He has presented on using video creation and formation in the classroom and his research interests include improving student affect when using technology in the music classroom as well as content creation to drive student achievement. She is the Capital Region Director and a trainer for The New York State Association for Computers and Technologies in Education (NYSCATE).     About our Guest: Dr. Shannon W. McPherson Dr. Shannon W. McPherson is a highly trained and experienced high school science teacher. She has had twenty-six years of teaching in a wide variety of sciences, including chemistry, advanced placement environmental science, anatomy and physiology, biology, medical microbiology, and pathophysiology. She has also been an adjunct faculty member at a local community college, teaching anatomy and physiology to pre-nursing students. She has taught thousands of students at various levels, which attests to her passion, drive, trustworthiness, and love for her students. Before teaching, Dr. McPherson was a chiropractor with a growing practice after graduating as salutatorian of her class. While growing her practice, she spent her spare time volunteering at her son’s school. During this time, she realized she had missed her calling due to the joy she felt every day as an educator. She pursued and achieved alternative certification to teach science, a field severely lacking teachers. She hasn't looked back since. A mother of three grown children and a whole pack of grand dogs, she is married and lives outside Houston, Texas.
