  • Summary

  • On this episode Phillip is joined for the first time by A.C. Nicholas, who is a writer and contributor to Groovy Doom and Drive-In Asylum on the YouTube channel and the fanzine. Get the fanzine here https://www.etsy.com/shop/GroovyDoom Phillip and A.C. start the show by talking about A.C.'s history of going to Grindhouse theaters and about his love of movies. It's then time to get into the general information for Assault on Precinct 13 from 1976. Phillip then reads Listener Opinions from Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Then Phillip and A.C. talk about John Carpenter's love of Howard Hawks, the pacing of the movie, etc. The two of them rate the movie and talk about whether they would own this movie. After several tangents and movie talk, Phillip gives his Phil's Film Favorite of a Week; The Train (1964). A.C. mentions some movies that he recommends; The Seige, The Price of Power, Red Queen Dies Seven Times, Strange Shadows in an Empty Room, Captain Chronos; Vampire Hunter, The Plants are Watching, Horror High, China 9 Liberty 37, Frankenstein Created Woman, and The Children. Phillip then teases the next show coming up. Jennifer Upton will return, and they will discuss Don't Go In The House (1979). Thanks for listening. We hope you enjoyed it.
