    Jul 9 2022
From October 2016 to July 2017, the battle for Mosul Iraq against ISIS raged. I was there, Meethak al Khatib was there and he was one of our guides, he worked with us messy foreigners and showed us the truth in his country, the beautiful and the damned. Now he's his own journalist, making a name for himself and discovering how to navigate the pitfalls of a country still un-repaired and often forgotten by western countries. I checked in on him. He's an incredible Storyteller and the lessons are about self-reflection and internal understandings - He's translating the war for himself. Join us will you? I met Aysar Naserallah in the heat of the 2014 - 50 day war in Gaza. He worked with journalists and NGOs to translate, transport and help use unfold the destruction of his home land. Today we're still friends and last year when attacks bombarded Gaza again, he left me a haunting message as he moved his family out of their home and only to follow them the next day. So recently I called him up to find out how he's doing, and give us a picture of the struggle and how he keeps hope amid the occupation.  I hope you'll take share podcast w/ your communities and begin to have real conversations about the violence of the oppressed v. the oppressor, so we can begin to translate the wars abroad to our wars at home.    There's more to come. • ep.41 Take Small Steps w/ Fitness Coach, LaDonna Spivey.
    Jan 5 2022
For over a decade LaDonna has been navigating the fitness trends, coaching and learning her own body, what works, what doesn't and how to get people motivated. But often the New Year's resolution trends offer a surge of expectations we don't follow by year's end. And it's often because we set our expectations too high, we don't rest and then we burn out. So we talk about the importance of Small Steps, building up a good workout, giving ourselves permission to rest and where to go from there. This is an amazing conversation, an important one - because our Bodies are speaking to us, and if we listen, we can become and feel our best selves.
