Michael from Movimiento Salsa Band talks about his journey from Chicago to Maryland and finding a place in this band. Movimiento is promising to get everyone up and moving on Carroll Creek so you’d better bring your comfy dancing shoes!

After a couple of scheduled Alive at Five dates and one appearance, this Hip-Hop-flavored band is back on Carroll Creek. He may not have been born in Frederick. But being here since the late 90’s he considers Frederick home and we’re so happy about that! A little funky and a lot of fun – this band is going to get the crowd going.

Karen Jonas, Tim Bray, Seth Morrissey and Seth Brown have been together over a decade and are enjoying bringing their alt-country, americana sound to fans all over. Just stepping off a recent tour of the UK they are excited to bring their music to Alive at Five for the first time – but not the first time in Frederick. They have played Café Nola, Brewers Alley, Jo Jo’s Tap House and others. Karen is a lover of Joni Mitchell and other singer songwriters and promises to bring the storytelling to the Creek!

Don’t try to pigeon-hole this 6, sometimes 7 piece band into a genre. While they would be overall described as “Funky” their set list is filled with party favorites from AC/DC to Olivia Rodrigo! But do expect them to put their own spin on lots of your favorites. Having gotten together in 2020, they have finally settled into a comfort with each other that will show on stage.
