I apologize for the sporadic nature of my ability to post. But I was completing my grad school application, and I’m proud to say I have finally completed them. When I embarked on my scholastic career per se, I was a totally different person. I come from a place of an aspiring musician, hip-hop to be exact. The Braggadocious nature of the hip-hop culture spilled over into my normal life. I had just recently beat my battle with alcoholism and just total irresponsibility when I began my nursing journey. When I got my nursing degree and had a job in place, I was in a revenge state of mind . I was telling a friend who I considered to be a brother, who led a similar lifestyle of my revenge state of mind, and his advice to me at that moment was perfect. He simply responded with “the humble”. I chose to remain humble during that moment  because I know that bragging can make you seem a bit prideful and can be offputting. As my grades begin to come in this morning and thankfully they were all A+’s, I began to think back to those moments when people I call my friends laughed at me at my worst moments.  I began to feel that revenge, that look at me, I’m gonna make you pay for laughing at me mind state again. I can say I forgave them for that because I understand why they did that, but I never forgot. Today I was invited to lunch by my mom and somehow this conversation came up about my revenge state of mind. My mothers words to me were be humble. I’d love to celebrate this moment, but again I don’t wanna be offputting. I’ve been doing things that people won’t do to improve their situation for 10 years and I’m so happy to have completed  another degree and would like to celebrate in some form and chose to do that with you guys. So I’m happy, I am so proud of my accomplishments and would love to share it with y’all.
