I am your host Emma Della Rossa, and today i will be interviewing Laura Welle.Laura Bazzucchi, aka Laura Welle is an Italian singer-songwriter now based in Toronto. After building a diverse repertoire of cover songs, she passed an audition in 2016 in Milan, for the independent Italian record label, ‘Rosso Al Tramonto’. She co-wrote her first single ‘Ci Ballo Su’ together with Luca Sala, an Italian singer-songwriter who has been working with big names of the Italian music industry. The song was played on nearly 150 Italian radio stations and reached more than 100,000 views on YouTube. In 2017 she decided to adopt the stage name, Laura Welle, to move toward the international music market. between 2018 and 2019 she wrote and recorded her first indie-pop EP in English. Along with dropping singles as an independent artist, Laura collaborated on two projects with independent British label Krafted, which releases electronic music. The first one was called “The Wave”; (October 1, 2021), an EP, written by Laura and produced by Paul Sawyer. The Radio Edit was broadcast on BBC Radio 1 many times from October 2021 to January 2022. The EP reached 11th position on the electronic music section on iTunes. These results made Krafted decide to work on another EP, “Burning”, that dropped June 10, 2022. The Radio Edit debuted even before the official release day as an official preview on BBC Radio 1, creating much hype and curiosity. The track was later broadcast several times on BBC Radio 1, reaching #1 on Beatport, holding the position for almost a month. I am your host Emma, and today I will be interviewing Giancarlo Binetti.Giancarlo Binetti is a french horn player and conductor based in the Greater Toronto Area. He started music in high school at Father Michael McGivney Catholic Academy in Markham, and went on to do a Bachelor of Classical Performance in french horn at York University, as well as a Masters' degree in musicology, focusing on the study of wind band conducting, the role of the artistic director, and concert band administration in Ontario.He frequently plays and conducts in community bands like Rouge River Winds and the Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra, leads a brass quintet, participates in independent freelance projects, and subs for semi-professional orchestras all around the GTA. Giancarlo works closely with Colin Clarke as an assistant to his youth orchestras, leading occasional rehearsals and sectionals as needed. Today we are interviewing Kimberly Brathwaite.

    Kimberly is a Toronto-based musician, singer, and pianist with a background in both classical piano (Royal Conservatory of Music) and jazz studies (University of Toronto), Kimberly wears many hats. Beyond performing, she's a songwriter, producer, and composer with a growing catalog. Her work can already be found on Spotify with four tracks currently available. Kimberly's artistic vision extends beyond songwriting. She's also interested in film scoring and aims to integrate her music into the cinematic world. Her dedication to her craft hasn't gone unnoticed. In 2022, she received a $2,000 grant from the Government of Canada's FACTOR program in support of her musical endeavors.

I am your host Emma Della Rossa, and today I will be interviewing Kristen Antunes.Kristen Antunes is a music industry professional and musician based in Toronto, Ontario. She is a graduate from the University of Toronto’s Masters of Music Technology and Digital Media program where she studied music business, entrepreneurship, marketing, psychology, recording, and production. She also holds a Bachelor of Music and Minor in Sociology from the same institution and is regularly requested as a guest lecturer for extracurricular programs such as Future Sounds 6ix and the Amplify! Mentorship Program. Kristen was recently selected for the Women in Music Canada Leadership Accelerator program, learning new business strategies from a wide variety of industry leaders and joining a community of high-achieving women in Canadian music. She holds extensive experience from across the music industry, including rights management, artist management, music publishing, and digital media development, and currently works as an Account Executive with Canadian music rights organization, SOCAN. In her work at SOCAN, Kristen manages high-profile member accounts, spearheads policy developments and revisions, and acts as a mentor for the company’s Summer Internship Program. She is regularly consulted for her knowledge in music publishing, and has organized staff SQL training to improve data literacy. She is a staunch advocate for music rights and equitable compensation for artistic work, and is regularly commissioned as an arranger, producer, and performer for artists and schools across Canada. I am your host Emma Della Rossa, and today I will be interviewing Parisa Sabet.Dr. Sabet is a composer of electroacoustic, acoustic, and film music. Her most recent interdisciplinary work, Silent, was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement in Toronto. Blue Girl is another of her recent works: honoring the stories of women who self-immolate as a form of protest against domestic violence and forced marriage. Presented at the 2020 virtual Nuit Blanche Festival, it was recognized by Now Toronto magazine as a “Stellar Highlight” of that year’s arts scene. In her academic work, Dr. Sabet focuses on Persian culture, and the synthesis of Western and Persian musical languages. In 2013, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada supported her study of a Persian folk dance, Čūb-Bāzī (“dance with sticks”). Although banned in Iran, the dance is still secretly performed: her orchestral composition, Those Still Dancing, arose from her findings. As an educator, her current research-creation project, No Need to Vanish, focuses on developing, designing, and producing contemporary learning resources that are practical, accessible and innovative for musicians from diverse personal and educational backgrounds. Her debut album, A Cup of Sins, was released on August 26, 2022. With funding from the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts, the recording includes a variety of her acoustic and electroacoustic works, all of which address issues of human rights, persecution, oppression, violence against women, and freedom of speech. Dr. Sabet earned a Doctor of Musical Arts, a Master of Music in composition, and a Master of Music Technology and Digital Media from the University of Toronto. Nicole has worked with an array of international DJs, producers, and artists as a vocalist and songwriter. Some of these collaborators include; Ryan Worsley (award-winning, Juno-nominated producer), Baker Grace (a multi-million streamed recording artist), and Setou & Senyo (highly successful and sought-after deep house DJ/producer duo). The artist is known for their quirky, spot-on relatable lyrics and high-energy Dance-Pop production, which Nicole showcased while performing at Toronto's 2023 Pride Festival. Nicole is currently working on a full-length album and hopes to show fans an authentic, bold, badass side that has been dying to be unleashed.
