You got some much needed sleep, but you knew in your heart that Princess Paua was not settled on how your adventure ended…and you know her well enough to know that when Paua doesn’t like how something ended…it means it’s not over.

That’s where you are now, Hunny: snoozing away in the sleepover room of the Castle, wrapped in luxuriously soft pjs, getting as much sleep as you can in preparation for the epic adventure you expect to have waiting for you when you are awakened.Last time in our fairy tale, Princess Pia led you through the wilderness on a wild journey that delivered you back to the Castle with a new appreciation of yourself, the world around you, and all that Princess Paua thought she knew.

Though Paua was promised a fun sleepover—happily hoping to reconnect Princess Pia and Princess Petra—what she got was a long, sleepless night of rumination, stuck in her own head…all alone. The biggest challenge she’s ever faced was still out THERE in the forest, unfazed…while she was dragged by the arm back to the Castle, where everything she needs is handed to her—and handed to her sometimes even before she thinks to need it.

Now, you just need to get back to Princess Petra and the Castle, your home away from home. That’s where you are now, Hunny, making your way back to the Kingdom of Ronzio Castle, step by step: over shimmering puddles of fairyberry juice alongside Princess Paua; doing your best to follow behind Princess Pia…without getting lost in the meandering darkness…again.

Last time in our fairy tale, you got to know your new friend Princess Pia, and her wild ways, a bit more. Though she claims to be sole Princess of the forest and all the fairies it contains, she doesn’t seem to have much sway over the same fairies that she calls her own. That was made abundantly clear, and for Pia—annoyingly clear—when the fairies interrupted her attempts to control them, buzzing about her ears and directly undermining the authoritative persona she was wearing like a mask.

Mrs. Honeybee’s gentle ways seem to garner more command of the mischievous fairies with none of the bravado that Pia forces onto them, and that leaves you wondering what makes these fairies tick, what role Mrs. Honeybee has in this quest—since she always seems to
go missing or…reappearing out of nowhere—and what all goes on out here in the great beyond; beyond the confines of the Kingdom that felt so expansive not hours ago.

You’ve gotten a good glimpse of the forest, seen through its cover of darkness, and peered into the inner-workings of the wild, but you sense that there is much more to see. And that…there’s something….you’re not seeing…despite your best attempts at vigilance. Princess Paua has lost interest in conquering the forest and has set her sights, and her heart, on reconnecting with Princess Pia. She all but begged Pia to join you for a sleepover at the Castle, for one night’s reprieve from the harsh conditions that Pia flaunts.

You’re now standing face-to-face with someone who seems to know a lot more about Princess Paua than Paua knows about her, and someone entirely unknown to you. Who is this….Princess Pia? And, more importantly, Hunny, can you trust her?

Last time in our fairy tale, you were whisked away to Princess Paua’s workshop in a tree to test her latest creation: the Ogre Slayer arrow! No sooner was it finished, than you two were up in the highest turret of the Castle, sipping tea and taking aim out the window at a far-away wooden Ogre-targets set up in the wilderness.

Though you planned to launch your matching arrows together, on the count of three, only you made the bullseye; Princess Paua’s tried-and-true bow snapped and with it months of hard work fell to the floor in pieces. That didn’t stop her from excitedly taking to the forest to track your target down for diagnostics—Paua is serious about making her arrows, and her skills, ever-sharper. Against Princess Petra’s repeated pleas for you not to, you and Paua disappeared into the darkness of the forest in search of your targets, but what you found…was more than either of you could have ever guessed.

After a somewhat curious meeting with Mrs. Honeybee in the woods, you were led to a secret fairyberry grove that is home to none other than…actual, real-life, twinkling Fairies! You could barely take that incredible bit of information in before someone else made themselves known...a shadowy, crowned figure emerged from the wild and stood in stark contrast to the sparkling wonderment of this secret garden filled with Fairies.

well done bedtime story

I like the beginning talk down and stretching/ breathing exercise throughout the story. The story is short and cute. The narrators voice is relaxing,l. My 5 year old daughter loves this one.
